WFP Deputy Executive Director Carl Skau is on the ground in #Lebanon where WFP is scaling up emergency food assistance to reach up to 1 million people affected by the crisis. To sustain this support we need ports and supply routes to remain open. We also urgently need US$115M to support efforts through year-end.

🌍 Conflict and climate crisis are driving global food crises, leaving millions of people struggling to access the food they need to survive. Conflict disrupts food systems by damaging agriculture and breaking supply chains, while climate crisis exacerbates the situation with droughts and floods that decimate crops and livelihoods. Together, these crises create a dangerous overlap, trapping communities in a cycle of hunger and instability. 🔵 To prevent catastrophic food insecurity, early intervention and resilience-building are urgently needed. 💡Learn more below

💡 Did you know that Mobile Storage Units (MSUs), also known as portable warehouses, are used for storage where existing infrastructure is limited or inadequate? These storage tents can be built in 8 hours and safely hold up to 230 metric tons of food commodities and 2,000 hygiene kits within 320 square meters. In #Nigeria, WFP hosted a hands-on training in Maiduguri on installing and managing MSUs aiming to boost emergency storage solutions and aid delivery to those in need. Currently, 44 MSUs are on the ground in hard-to-reach areas.
