Inspiring Work Anniversaries!🎉 "Work anniversaries probably aren’t the first thing you think of when you think of addressing workforce challenges. But done well, they can (1) reinforce your organization’s purpose; (2) strengthen your employees’ sense of belonging; and (3) boost their perception of organizational support. All three of these have been scientifically shown to improve organizational performance. " - Rick Joi, The Workiversary Group In this week's Digital Article Series installment, Rick Joi discusses how celebrating work anniversaries can significantly benefit organizations by reinforcing purpose, enhancing employee belonging, and increasing perceived organizational support. It suggests simple and cost-effective ideas such as personalized messages from managers, equipment upgrades, skip-level one-on-ones, team lunches, and company-branded clothing to maximize these benefits without significant expense. Normally we focus on the value that work anniversaries deliver as coming from (1) reinforcing the organization's purpose, (2) boosting employees' sense of belonging, and (3) strengthening employees' perception of organization support. But today is #WorldProductivityDay 🎉 , so we're switching it up. Today's blog post shares a relatively unknown way to celebrate work anniversaries that also boosts productivity. This approach is of benefit to every organization — especially those with remote employees. Read it here: https://lnkd.in/exqN4MX7

The Olympics of business books is called the Axiom Business Book Awards. The awards were created in 2007, and have since become the largest and most respected book awards program for business books. These prestigious and competitive awards are presented in 28 business categories and serve as the premier list to help business book readers discover new and innovative works. Judging is based on content, originality, design, and production quality, with emphasis on *innovation* and *creativity* (two of my favorite things!). The judging panel includes experts from the fields of business, finance, reviewing, and bookselling. Gold, silver, and bronze medals are awarded in each category. The awards are held annually and the winners are announced in the spring. AND… Inspiring Work Anniversaries won the bronze medal 🥉 in the Company Culture category! 🎉 You can check out all the medal-winning books here: https://lnkd.in/eJCEEExu And if you haven't already, you can purchase Inspiring Work Anniversaries here: https://lnkd.in/eMPeVwCv

I’m announcing today that the movie rights to Inspiring Work Anniversaries are officially for sale! 🤩 If you’d like to help out, please forward this post to your movie/television producer/director/investor friends. Thanks in advance! 🙏 The movie will be a *loose* adaptation of the book — here’s the synopsis: _________ A slightly awkward software engineer (Nathan Fillion?) accidentally becomes the world’s leading — and only — work anniversary expert, publishes the world’s first book about work anniversaries, and then finds himself fighting for the future of humanity after finding his book is being outsold by *The Official Guide to HR Approved Ways to Tell People They’re Stupid*. The film immediately captures viewer attention by hewing closely to the actual introduction of *Inspiring Work Anniversaries*, where people are naked and the author almost dies. (You can buy the book here: https://lnkd.in/eMPeVwCv) From there, we learn how difficult it is to be the world’s leading work anniversary expert. We see how wherever the protagonist goes, people ask him, ”Is that really a thing?" Some even ask, “What’s a work anniversary?” But he perseveres, releases the book, and when he finds his book being outsold by the *Stupid* book, he asks himself, ”What kind of world do we want to live in? "A world where people are thankful for each other’s contributions? "Or a world where people invest time and money into trying to figure out how to call each other stupid without getting in trouble?" The battle against the *Stupid* book becomes our unlikely hero’s chance to show the world that it *really does* need a work anniversary expert! As the fight draws more and more publicity, people become more aware of how to meaningfully celebrate work anniversaries — but also more aware of how to call each other stupid without getting in trouble. The stakes couldn’t be higher! The movie is filled with twists and turns, shocking revelations, a 1969 Firebird, and occasional unicorns. At the climax, the *Stupid* book turns out to be just one book in a series — tilting the odds against our hero. Will kindness and positivity prevail? Or will insults and bullying win the day? Or maybe, could this small-time indie book battle spiral into something much bigger than work anniversaries and become the unexpected solution to the societal ills of negativity-charged social media discourse and hyper-polarized politics? Find out this summer in the greatest work anniversary film ever made! _________ If you want to see this movie made, click the like button and repost! 🙂
