🗳️👩🏾💼👩🏿🏫🧕🏼 On Women’s Equality Day, we honor the strides made toward gender equity. While the 19th Amendment granted many women the right to vote in 1920, the struggle for voting rights extended much further for women of color. Native American women weren’t recognized as voters until 1924, Chinese American women in 1943, and Japanese and other Asian American women in 1952. African American women, who played a pivotal role in the suffrage movement, were barred from voting until the Voting Rights Act of 1965. As we reflect on this history, we reaffirm our commitment to advancing gender equity, and recognize that the fight is far from over. 🔗 Learn more about the ongoing battle for women's equal rights in the workplace at https://lnkd.in/gUNwRBcP #WomensEqualityDay #GenderEquity #VotingRights #EqualityForAll
