This new, full-time position is responsible for the accounts receivable and grants payable functions of accounting. The role will manage the financial administration of donations and revenue in Blackbaud Raiser's Edge, process grants for payment, conduct due diligence process, provide reports, and support event registration. Candidates should have 2 years database entry experience and an interest in grantmaking, fundraising, and related fields.   • Last month, the Women's Foundation hosted a summer social to welcome 20 community members who make key decisions about WFM grantmaking - the Young Women's Committee and Community Power Committee. Each group includes participants of WFM programs and communities reflective of the diverse statewide communities we serve. Their perspectives, leadership, and community expertise will guide our participatory grantmaking process for the next two years.   • 🌟 Exciting News! 🌟 We are thrilled to announce that Briana K. Joyner has joined the Women's Foundation of Minnesota as our new Executive Vice President of People & Culture. In this role, Joyner will focus on the employee experience across the organization, overseeing Human Resources, driving DEIA strategies, supporting Executive Team members, internal leaders, and all staff by leading an internal people and culture strategy consistent with WFM's mission, vision, and values. Briana joins the Women's Foundation after serving as the interim Executive Director of the Hallie Q. Brown Community Center, a beloved African American Institution in the heart of Rondo, and the Minnesota Historical Society, where she was the Chief Human Resources & Inclusion Officer. Briana's vast experience includes organizational development, behavioral science, evaluation, operations, strategy development and implementation, learning and development, human resources, culture transformation, diversity, equity, access, and inclusion. Briana has worked to develop broad ownership of equity work, a sense of belonging, and deep intercultural competence across the communities she's led. She continues to champion, inspire, mentor, and empower the next generation of changemakers and beyond. Reflecting on her new role, Joyner said: "As the Executive Vice President of People and Culture for the Women's Foundation of Minnesota, I am looking forward to infusing hope and courage in all we do by empowering every leader to see themselves just as they are in the work of the foundation. We intentionally choose to celebrate difference and create environments of wellness. I'm eager to bring an inclusive, human-centered approach to our collective work, where a sense of belonging becomes an ongoing, natural behavioral interaction among our teams, partners, donors, board, and community partners." WFM awarded a $60,000 grant to Propel Nonprofits to support deeper organizational learning and training to the grantee cohort. girlsBEST supports girl-led programs that increase readiness of girls to achieve economic well-being.   • ✨We're so excited to announce our new Director of Institutional Partnerships, Lorena Armstrong-Duarte!✨ Lorena has over 20 years of experience working with Minnesota's largest mission-centered organizations including The University of Minnesota, Minneapolis Public Schools, and Twin Cities PBS. She is an institutional storytelling and strategy expert and is passionate about helping individuals and organizations see their vision for a better world come to life. She is a published poet and experienced spoken word performer alongside her professional career. She was born in El Salvador, raised in Minnesota, educated at Harvard University, and now lives in Minneapolis with her husband and two sons. Lorena will lead all aspects of WFM funding, engaging with a wide range of institutions, including corporations and foundations. Lorena is eager to build meaningful relationships through outreach, impact storytelling, solicitation of philanthropic support, project management, and content writing for customized grant reports. "I'm thrilled to join WFM in the vital work of protecting and advancing the rights and opportunities of women, girls, and gender-expansive individuals in Minnesota. At a time when the rights of women and marginalized communities are being threatened and stripped across the country, WFM is a beacon of hope and I love knowing that every day, I will be working towards something I believe in so passionately – all alongside an incredible team.
