  • The SCTE Foundation is proud to introduce its latest initiative designed to address the pressing needs of the broadband industry. Our mission is, "Empowering Talent and Igniting Innovation in Broadband Tech," which drives us to use charitable funds to support the growth and advancement of the broadband sector. One of our flagship programs focuses on up-skilling high school graduates and students from technical and trade schools, offering them a complimentary 4-year SCTE student membership if they are actively enrolled in any educational institution. We leverage the strength of our SCTE chapters to connect with cable community members, including retirees, executives, and other professionals, who volunteer to facilitate weekly study groups. These 8-week study groups provide valuable training, mentorship, and industry insights, ultimately preparing participants for SCTE certification. Throughout the program, the SCTE Chapters and Foundation provide industry expert guidance and proctorship to ensure the highest standards of learning and professional development. The SCTE Foundation funds these certifications, ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder access to this critical professional development. Once certified, these newly minted professionals are poised to meet the industry's high demand for skilled entrants, particularly given the significant network construction demands on the horizon. This program not only enhances the talent pipeline but also strengthens the broadband industry by fostering a new generation of certified professionals ready to contribute to its growth and innovation. The Broadband Fiber Specialist track includes: • Up to 4 years of free SCTE membership (for students) • 1 year of SCTE membership (non students), $105 value • Expert-level weekly study groups provided by the chapters or Foundation • Hands-on training with safety, fusion splicers, signal level meters, O/TDR and more! • Fast track to high quality employment opportunities in the broadband industry • SCTE certifications of: o Broadband Fiber Installation (BFI) 12 hours, $446 value o Broadband Fiber Testing and Restoration 16 hours, $297 value Training starts this Thursday, August 22 and will run for 8-10 weeks.
