Canoemobile is excited to be in Atlanta! Looking forward to paddling with our partners at the Chattahoochee Nature Center, Inc. over the next two weeks!
Senior Director of Learning and Engagement 🌿 Leading a vision for environmental education through interpretive programming, community partnerships, and authentic outdoor experiences.
Our Chattahoochee Nature Center, Inc. team is thrilled to welcome Wilderness Inquiry Canoemobile to the Chattahoochee River again this year. 🛶🛶🛶 For the next two weeks, we’ll be paddling with our community in amazing 10-person canoes, connecting people of all background and abilities with our watershed through this unique and engaging partnership. We are excited to host Catalyst Sports, Cancer Support Community, Los Niños Primero, Fulton County Government, and hundreds of metro-Atlanta students, too! This project was made possible by an award from the National Park Service and National Parks Trust, and by the support of Smurfit Westrock. 🙌 You’re invited to join us! We are hosting a special morning with Blue Star Families on Saturday November 2 and a CNC community day, open to all, on Tuesday November 5! See you on the river!

We’re honored to have Pete LuPiba, founder of the Purple Star Schools movement, join us in Dayton, OH alongside Blue Star Families and Mad River Local Schools, to foster a culture of welcome and belonging for youth from military families — in schools, communities, and the outdoors. Thanks Pete, for your leadership and service in Ohio and across the 40+ states that have received the Purple Star Schools designation to support military-connected children! #MilitaryFamiliesOutdoors

Proud to work alongside so many innovative partners - thanks for highlighting this important work! And we look forward to more collaboration and welcoming the Children & Nature Network to the Twin Cities next year for their annual conference.
Wilderness Inquiry has created an innovative summer Outdoor Credit Recovery Program that brings together teachers, National Park Service education rangers and outdoor leaders. Together, they’re helping St. Paul, Minnesota, high school students earn credits and stay on track to graduate — through experiential learning and adventures in the outdoors. This summer, students got to spend eight days on and around the Mississippi River, participating in everything from simulated historic land treaties with Owámniyomni Okhódayapi Dakota tribal leaders to bumble bee counts with Great River Greening. “For a lot of kids, learning science or math in the classroom, where it’s not applied to something in the real world, feels useless,” says Tracy Larson of Wilderness Inquiry. “When students are able to put their hands in an experience, that’s when it clicks, and they say, ‘Oh, that’s why that matters.’” In our latest #FindingNatureNews, Larson shares how outdoor credit recovery students are surpassing national benchmarks for social-emotional learning.
