Ella Foster, CNA, was Nemasket Healthcare Center's Employee of the Month for June! Ella started as a co-op student 5 years ago and became one of our more dependable employees and we are grateful for her hard work and dedication.

Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital Bradford was honored to welcome Senior Master Sergeant Robert Rivers from the United States Air Force earlier this summer. Stacey is a hard worker who is always pleasant with anyone who enters the Bistro. Recently, a visitor came into the Bistro looking for tea. The Bistro had closed and Stacey was cleaning. She took the time to make a cup of tea for the visitor. Thank you, Stacey, for your hard work and dedication! We are very lucky to have you on our team!

Earlier this summer, we bid farewell to this amazing group of nursing students from the University of the Virgin Islands on St. Croix. We will miss you and wish you all the best on your nursing endeavors!

Hector began working at Oak Knoll in the kitchen in 2016, and Náthaly started working here in the kitchen in 2017. They both transitioned to CNA roles, got married, and Hector graduated nursing school in 2021. Náthaly just graduated from nursing school this summer - join us in congratulating her on this accomplishment! We are so proud of both Náthaly and Hector for their achievements and are incredibly lucky to have them on our team.

Respiratory Therapist Kathy Tompkins arrived just in time for respiratory season. With an increased risk for respiratory exacerbation from asthma, COPD, and allergies, she is a welcome sight here at Nemasket Healthcare Center!

On June 28th, our second group of nursing students from the University of the Virgin Islands on St. Thomas departed after clinical rotations at Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital - Bradford. Heather Grondin, Director of Nursing at Whittier said, “The students in this St. Thomas group were cerebral go-getters - they asked so many high-level questions, and they wanted to understand the mechanics of how things worked. A couple of the students were dialysis techs, and so they were already entrenched in healthcare. These students were ahead of their time and they will be phenomenal! We were sad to say farewell and hope they come back to see us.” It is so important to all of us at Whittier that we are supporting the nursing profession when we all face a nursing shortage crisis worldwide, and we are grateful to be a part of nurturing and developing the nurses of our future. 👩⚕️ A special thanks to Merrimack College for allowing us to use their dorms to house the visiting students and clinical staff!

Iris has shown dedication to her department as well as other departments as a whole. She is reliable, hardworking and shows eagerness to learn new processes and applies it to her daily work activities. She has a good working relationship with all other departments and is always willing to help with the ultimate goal of “Patient Care”. She is a team player and a great member of the Whittier Team! Jay was Nemasket Healthcare Center's employee of the month for July. Jay is our floor care specialist and has been at Nemasket for a year. He is funny and always willing to help whenever asked. His favorite part about working here is getting to joke around with the residents and make them smile and laugh! Thank you, Jay, for all you do here at Nemasket!
