My view. My view for the week. So grateful to be able to come and enjoy a week with girlfriends. To laugh. To cut up. To sleep. To relax. To eat! And just do whatever the heck we want to do. It’s so important to take time away. And while I build in multiple vacations, including this one, into my year before the year even starts, this year is different. I’ve embarked on a new journey in life and in my business this year. I’ve taken on some pretty high goals and I’m in the messy middle of making them a reality. The last several months have been pretty hectic and I’ve been balancing a work travel schedule that’s new for me. I’ve made so many new connections and friendships. I’ve had the opportunity to travel to California, Texas, Tennessee and Georgia. I am embarking on new paths….some new and exciting but also make me nervous at times. I would 100% redo everything I have done the last several months but this vacation was overdue. It’s past time to recharge my battery. I need this. What I’m taking away from the first 1.5 quarters of the year is that I will be building in more vacations starting now. This vacation, while already built in to my schedule, isn’t enough. It’s so important to build in time to step away from your business. To live life. To clear your head. To reconnect to yourself. It’s during these times you recharge your battery and can show up in life and in your business like you need to. With more focus and clarity! For those of you thinking “This would be so nice but I just can’t imagine being able to take this kind of time away.”, I hear you. I get it. I’ve built several businesses thinking the same thing. Trying to get away only to be pulled into working while on vacation. Stealing away time from your friends and family to sneak in work so you don’t get behind. I’ve been there numerous times. It’s frustrating. Overwhelming. Irritating. All you really want to do is run your business and do what you do all while living the life you want to live. Getting to enjoy vacations without worrying about your business. I’m hear to tell you it doesn’t have to be that way. It is 100% possible to take time away from your business and have your business still run. But it’s not always obvious how you can make this happen. We always see people posting about their success, but we don’t really see anyone posting about their failures. Why is it? It’s because we’ve been conditioned to believe that posting about our failures is taboo-that’s it’s forbidden, tacky, and huge, “No, no.” But I have a lesson for you in failure AND success and here are my key takeaways: Just because you've done amazing things in the past, doesn't mean you've thought of everything. Mistakes still find us seasoned professionals too! Stay nimble; rapidly changing directions to address issues takes confidence and decisiveness.  Communication is key! Keep your team in the loop.Don’t keep them in the dark-even when you mess up! At the end of the day, don't let the hiccups deter you from the vision. What doesn't break you makes you stronger right? There’s no shame in sharing your failures, and we really need to make that the norm! I promise you that your failures really are normal.
