What did it take for Westland Distillery to become B-Corp certified? Transparency. With our customers, our suppliers, our community, our staff, our partners, and with ourselves. We believe honest conversations lead to authentic relationships Patience. Westland set becoming B Corp certified as a goal well before I joined the organization nearly five years ago, but we only recently became certified. We had the heart and several practices in place from the start, but making additional improvements and documenting everything was intensive. Even when an organization is ready to apply, the review process takes time (and rightfully so). The road is long, but as any good whiskey distillery knows - the best things take time Commitment. To holding ourselves accountable, to continuous improvement, and to doing the right thing. Commitment from everyone. Westland's co-founder is very passionate about B-Corp and instilled that enthusiasm in the leadership and staff at Westland so that the drive to be a responsible business lives on.
