About us
The West Valley Mavericks Foundation was born of the imagination and vision of a group of community leaders late in 2012. The West Valley Mavericks ( or just 'Mavericks') is a group lead by gentlemen who believe that the West Valley is an incredible place to live, work, and play. The Mavericks' charter is to advance charity, culture, community, and commerce in the West Valley of Phoenix. The group's membership hails from a diverse set of trades and professions and includes men from all manner of backgrounds and philosophies. The West Valley Mavericks Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. It is our mission to assist children and families, help people in need, and improve the quality of life in our West Valley communities. As an organization, we use individual contributions, fundraising events, business sponsorships, ticket sales donations, as well as hands-on community service to raise money and support West Valley charities. The West Valley Mavericks work closely with dozens of local organizations to achieve our goal of supporting the West Valley.

Today, some of our very own Mavericks had the privilege of attending the Cartwright School District's pancake breakfast honoring all first responders in remembrance of 9/11. We’re especially proud of Chris Eastburn and Chris Gallegos who not only serve as dedicated members of our organization but also as police officers in our community. We are incredibly grateful for their commitment to keeping our community safe. A huge thank you to Cartwright School District and Victor Hugo for hosting such a meaningful event. Honoring the heroes in our community is something we will never take for granted. #NeverForget #911Remembrance #CommunityHeroes #FirstResponders #MavericksInService Victor Hugo Chris Eastburn

We recently held our annual Child Spree event, a cornerstone of our community outreach initiatives. This heartwarming event took place at two different Kohl’s locations in Tolleson and Avondale, where we had the privilege of assisting 100 children at each site. Each child received $150 to shop for essential school clothing, ensuring they were well-prepared for the upcoming school year. We extend our deepest gratitude to our volunteers and generous sponsors: SRP, Kohl’s, Saddle Mountain Brewing Company, Legacy Foundation, and Amazon. Their support made this event possible and amplified its impact on our community. Cody Conklin, our Mavericks President, remarked, "Child Spree is our longest-running 'give back' event and most certainly our biggest feel-good event of the year. Having the opportunity to work with volunteers and sponsors to make an impact on the young people in need in our community is what the Mavericks strive to do." The West Valley Mavericks are dedicated to fostering community spirit and unity. Events like Child Spree exemplify our commitment to bringing people together to support those in need. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to the success of this event. Your efforts have made a significant difference in the lives of many young students. Together, we are stronger and more capable of making a lasting impact. Thank you, Joshua Pryor and Justin Hill, for leading these events. --- For more information about the West Valley Mavericks Foundation and our upcoming events, please visit our website or follow us on social media. Honor Dance – Empowering West Valley Youth Through Dance 🌟 The West Valley Mavericks Foundation is thrilled to support Honor Dance, a transformative organization dedicated to bringing the joy of dance to young people in our community. Breaking Down Barriers: Honor Dance removes financial and transportation obstacles by partnering with community organizations to offer tuition-free classes. No auditions, no special attire—just a welcoming space for everyone. More Than Movement: Dance isn’t just about steps; it’s a powerful tool for growth. It enhances academic achievement, emotional well-being, and builds confidence. Plus, it helps forge lasting friendships and problem-solving skills. A Track Record of Success: Since mid-2022, Honor Dance has impacted over 650 students at 12 West Valley sites. As Mrs. Ansell from the Dysart Community Center says, this program is a "huge" gift, giving youth the chance to thrive creatively and build confidence. Looking Ahead: For the 2024-2025 school year, Honor Dance aims to expand even further, offering 430 tuition-free classes at 26 sites. Their vision is a community where every child can experience the transformative power of dance. We’re proud to support Honor Dance and can’t wait to see the continued positive impact on our community. To learn more and support their mission, visit www.honordance.org. We can’t believe it’s already been almost a week since we closed out the 2023 @patriotallamerica We want to send a heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported and attended, making this year’s tournament genuinely exceptional! The support from the community this year was overwhelming. Not only did we have record-breaking attendance, but we were able to collaborate with organizations statewide to serve past and present members of our military in ways we never have been able to before (more on that soon 😉). To all of our community partners, sponsors, players, and volunteers – your dedication helped create so many unforgettable moments. Over the next couple of weeks, we will be sending out some additional shoutouts and sharing some of our favorite highlights, but for now, let’s take a look at what a powerful and inspiring week it was. ✨Let’s start dreaming up ways to continue building on this success together in 2024! ✨ #WVMavericks #PatriotAllAmerica #CommunityUnity#partners #sponsors #supportthemavericks
