Construction on the new Discovery Canyon Campus Field House is complete! Discovery Canyon Campus is part of the Academy School District 20 (ASD20) in Colorado Springs which offers site-based education to over 26,000 students pre-k through 12th grade. ASD20 finds that athletics are opportunities for students to pursue passions and learn valuable life skills, so W.E. O'Neil was honored to have had the opportunity to partner with the district and RTA Architects from preconstruction through completion to bring these athletes a first-of-its-kind space in the district to practice and participate. The new field house contains a synthetic turf floor that houses batting cages, 33 cylindrical skylights, overhead garage doors, and room for indoor practice space. The new 18,000 SF metal building is heated to accommodate outdoor athletes during the colder months. Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting SMPS Los Angeles at our new office in El Segundo for the "What's Up in Aviation" event. Attendees enjoyed a networking lunch followed by an insightful panel discussion. The panel focused on the evolving needs of Southern California airports, addressing both operational and maintenance challenges expected over the next twenty-four months, as well as the anticipated infrastructure and logistical demands for the upcoming 2026 World Cup and 2028 Olympics. Our CA team is celebrating a project milestone! North Park Apartments in San Diego, CA has topped out! Once complete, it will be a new 194,682 SF, 125-unit, eight-story, #MixedUse living community! To celebrate this milestone, W.E. O’Neil hosted a lunch and raffle to show our appreciation to all our onsite workers. We are excited to announce that construction is starting soon for the Macerich FlatIron Crossing Village in Broomfield, CO. “The HiFi,” short for Hello FlatIron, will be an entertainment and residential district that engages with the community surrounding the existing mall. Featuring retail, office, dining, a 2.5-acre park, and an apartment complex, the project will be built on underutilized land adjacent to FlatIron Crossing Mall. The “Live-work-play” development will begin construction next month as we dig into the infrastructure scope, preparing the site for the build.
