Recently we had the pleasure of joining State Bank of Southern Utah for the ribbon cutting of their new Washington Fields branch! The building is 12,775 sq. ft. with two floors of individual offices, open office space, teller counters, a conference room, a break room, a banking cafe, and a four-lane drive-through. The design is unique, with eleven separate roofs and an exterior façade of masonry, EIFS, and glass. At the ribbon cutting ceremony, Watts CFO Annie Howell said, “I’d like to give a big thanks to State Bank for trusting in Watts to build your beautiful new branch that your employees will call home. And also for investing in our local businesses through their banking needs, which in turn builds our community. Congratulations on your new branch!” . . . Back in April, we had the privilege of celebrating the new expansion to the Washington County Children’s Justice Center with a ribbon cutting! The new 11,331 sq. ft. building sits adjacent to the current facility and was needed to support the crucial medical and mental health services provided by the Children’s Justice Center. We’re so grateful we had the opportunity to be a part of the team that built this facility and support an organization that does such important work for our community. Thank you to the many organizations and individuals who made this project possible, including the subcontractors who joined us in donating to the project.  . . . We are deeply saddened by the loss of Blaine Moore, a dear friend, and superintendent for Watts Construction. Blaine was an incredible person and an outstanding employee. He will be greatly missed. Another ribbon cut out at the beautiful Tuacahn Center for the Arts! 🎉 This project consisted of adding 500 seats to the previous grass sections of the outdoor amphitheater and a new walkway around the right side. At the ceremony, Tuacahn CEO, Kevin Smith, talked about the impact these additional seats will have, putting Tuacahn in a new category of venue that will provide more opportunities for the organization. There was a tight deadline on this project starting at the end of November and finishing the first week of March, just in time for the concert series. Despite a stretch of rain, our teams were able to complete the project on time. Flying over our Family Village project at the Black Desert Resort development in Ivins, UT. These condos span across 13 buildings totaling an impressive 273,028 square feet. The project is well underway with buildings C, D, E, & F finishing up framing and starting structural steel, with exterior finishes and roofing to follow. On the right, buildings K, L, M, & N have finished concrete pads and just started framing. At the back buildings G, H, I, & J, MEP trades are working on underground rough-ins and we are prepping for concrete footings and foundations. For Fire Station No. 10, Galloway's Utah design teams have been working closely with the City of St. George to create a new station design based on previous station prototypes but adjusted to fit the site's distinct functional requirements, such as a training tower and bay accessibility for firefighters and engines. It's great to see this vital new station starting to take shape. We have two projects along Red Hills Parkway that are making great progress, The Parts Authority and Applied Product Solutions, an addition to Gustave A. Larson. Parts Authority is nearing completion and currently preparing for site concrete and asphalt. The building is 14,872 sq. ft. with 11,511 sq. ft. of warehouse, 2 stories of offices and a lobby for retail. At Applied Product Solutions, the masonry just wrapped up and now we can finish the exterior metal panel facade. We will also soon begin framing the interior offices. Congratulations to Haylen Thompson, the winner of the Watts Construction Scholarship Giveaway! At a recent Utah Tech Men’s Basketball Game, we presented Haylen with her scholarship check and she even won more cash by shooting baskets during half-time.
