Commerce Director Mike Fong today announced the appointment of Grace Yoo to lead the Office of Economic Development and Competitiveness. She assumes the Assistant Director role on September 16. Yoo comes to the Commerce Executive Leadership Team from the Washington State Women’s Commission, where she has served as Executive Director since her appointment by Gov. Inslee in May 2023. “I’m delighted to welcome Grace on board. Her business and international experience, coupled with her background and passion for topics crucial to human rights and equity, are ideally aligned with the department’s work and strategic priorities moving forward,” said Director Fong. “She shares our commitment to strengthening communities and our focus on growing the economy and creating good jobs throughout the state.” As OEDC Assistant Director, Yoo will lead the state business and industry sector development and international trade work. Select utilities still have available funding, so check your utility’s status at WACleanEnergyCredits.com and follow the easy steps to apply. Qualifying residential utility customers can receive the one-time $200 credit thanks to funding from the state Climate Commitment Act. All credits will be applied to customer accounts by September 15.
