Over the years, we heard a variety of challenges and feedback about the DSHS logo, mission, vision, and values. As we looked more closely, we realized many of the words and visuals we used were out of step with how many people describe DSHS services and themselves. Using a human-centered design process, we engaged thousands of clients, community partners, tribal governments, and staff to guide us in what was working well and what needed improvement. More than 4,000 people participated in surveys and hundreds participated in interviews and focus groups to brainstorm ideas. To keep costs low, we did all the internal research, development, and design work through our full-time communications staff as part of their regular duties. DSHS will begin updating our digital materials and website with the updated brand. Building signage will be updated over multiple years along our typical maintenance schedule. Printed materials will be updated over one to two years as typical reordering is needed. Thank you to everyone who contributed their valuable insights! Learn more about this exciting process. It is part of our vision - making modern changes to behavioral health. Great story and photos from @hoffmancorp. Thank you for sharing.
When we learned about Washington State’s vision of transforming behavioral health to include treating patients in the community and in smaller facilities that better meet their needs, we were all in. The Clark County community-based facilities will serve up to 48 patients at a time in three separate 16-bed facilities located next to one another. Hoffman supports the idea that people should have safe and secure therapeutic facilities to provide stability so they can get the treatment they need. The Washington State Department of Social and Health Services will provide all programming and treatment to all 48 patients and provide services and activities that are respectful to people across all cultures and backgrounds. We wanted to share some of our most recent photos so you can see for yourselves how close we're getting to completion. #hoffmanbuilds

What a great opportunity to partner with School's Out Washington Bridge Conference to uplift the young people around the state of Washington. It is our mission to partner with people to access support, care, and resources.
Our wonderful scholarship sponsors made it possible to offer 200+ low and no cost tickets for 2024 Bridge Conference attendees! These scholarships helped many youth providers across the state, especially folks in rural areas of Washington, dedicate two days to growth and community building with us in Tacoma. Thank you!
