  • At our Club, we are dedicated to empowering our members and educating them about their rights as citizens. Today, the next generation is stepping up and exercising their right to vote through our exciting upcoming activities: 🎁 Choosing which toys we’ll request from supporters for our holiday toy drive. 😋 Selecting their favorite dinner option for our monthly menu. 🎮 Deciding on the fun games they want to play this month. Waltham Boys & Girls Club is transforming today into a fun and educational experience, emphasizing to our kids the importance of every vote and the power of their voices. We look forward to seeing you at the polls! #clubvotes #youthempowerment #makeadifferencetoday

  • A heartfelt thank you to Peter Bowman from Eversource Energy, who recently visited our Club to present a check supporting our community services. It was an honor to have Mr. Bowman tour our facility and witness firsthand our commitment to Waltham's youth. #EmpoweringYouth #CommunityPartnerships #Gratitude During his visit, Mr. Bowman saw the positive influence our Boys & Girls Club has on local children. By engaging with our members and staff, he gained valuable insights into their challenges and how our programs assist in overcoming these obstacles.

  • Join us in celebrating our Employee of the Quarter(April-June), Kendall, our Director of Program Operations 👏 👏 For six years, Kendall has exemplified dedication and leadership, consistently stepping up when it mattered most to lead our middle school and high school programs. His remarkable ability to engage with members, earn their respect, and inspire them to achieve their potential is truly inspiring. Kendall's commitment extends well beyond his formal role—he's a dedicated team player who tirelessly coaches and guides others, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment where everyone feels welcome and valued. Whether he's building meaningful relationships with teens, offering a listening ear, or contributing to our Summer Eats program by ensuring that no child goes hungry, Kendall's altruistic spirit and genuine care for others always shine through. His actions demonstrate a profound commitment to making a difference, and his positive influence reverberates throughout our community. “A 'selfless act' is defined as an action demonstrating concern for others with little or no regard for oneself. It stands in contrast to selfishness and aligns with altruism, which entails giving to others without expecting anything in return. Synonyms for selflessness include unselfish, generous, and self-sacrificing. These qualities often describe the mindset, behavior, and character of this particular staff member. He exemplifies teamwork, consistently offering support and guidance when needed. Over the summer, he assumed multiple roles, from van driver to meal preparer, and from supervisor to mentor for many first-time workers. With a lean team for our Summer Eats Program, his contributions were crucial to our success. “ - Jason Smith, Assistant Executive Director Here's to you, Kendall, for your unwavering dedication, exceptional leadership, and the positive impact you've made in the lives of so many. Your efforts and passion do not go unnoticed, and we are incredibly grateful to have you as part of our community. Thank you for all that you do! 💙 👏

  • Join us in making a difference in the lives of our members as they head back to school this year! According to Boys & Girls Clubs of America, the average cost of school supplies is $529 per child, putting a burden on many local families. Students who don't begin the school year prepared can fall behind quickly. WBGC wants to ensure that the 150 youth and teens involved in our summer programming have the necessary tools to succeed this upcoming academic year. Ways to help (see flyer): -purchase items from our Amazon wishlist: https://a.co/3o55MKU -purchase items from the list and drop off at the Club -make a donation online Contact Caitlyn Garcia at [email protected] with questions or to coordinate delivery of items to Waltham Boys & Girls Club. Remember, together we can pave the way for their bright future! 💙 #Greatfutures #begreat #bgca

One of my biggest takeaways from building my career over the years is that it is important to work with people who inspire you, their passion and dedication can have a profound impact on your own work. When you surround yourself with individuals who are driven and committed to making a positive difference in their community, it can motivate you to do the same. Please join me in celebrating recent achievements of two of my colleagues at the Waltham Boys & Girls Club who inspire me every day - Erica Young and Jason Smith! Many are unaware of the challenges these two face behind the scenes to ensure that all children and teens in our community have equal opportunities. Whether they are attending school meetings with caretakers, driving the Club van to pick up kids, keeping their office door open at all hours to welcome anyone in need of a conversation, or answering countless phone calls from community members seeking advocacy or guidance through difficult situations, Erica and Jason never say NO. They unite us to find solutions, remove barriers, and uplift our kids and families, reinforcing the strength of our community. I couldn't be prouder to see them recognized for their selflessness, innovation, leadership, and genuine care for the well-being of all the children in our community. It is an honor to work alongside them, and I am thrilled to see their tireless efforts within the Waltham community acknowledged. If you're interested in partnering with Erica, Jason, and me to make a meaningful impact this summer or in the upcoming school year, we would love to collaborate with you. Please reach out to me at [email protected]. We can't achieve this crucial work for the next generation without your support!
