Here is yet another great case study in which Walter P Moore ‘s proprietary approach to modeling using ConnecTID® helped create this award winning project. ConnecTID® reformats the delivery process by providing better communication across disciplines, leveraging advanced digital tools, and modeling platforms to help limit risk, thus providing teams with cost and schedule certainty and reliable achievement of design intent.
At first glance, GEODIS Park stands out as an enormous structure--after all, it is the largest purpose-built soccer stadium in the U.S. Look closer, and you’ll see one of the reasons the Nashville stadium won a 2024 IDEAS² Award for constructability: repeating minimalist steel frames that, together, tell the story of innovative and client-responsive structural engineering. Aided by ConnecTID™ modeling, GEODIS Park’s steel delivery process combined several industry-leading activities to create a modern and streamlined construction process. It stands out as a model for the future of structural steel delivery compared to other stadiums with construction delays and cost overruns. With such an efficient structural system and steel delivery process, the project team cut seven weeks of the overall construction schedule! This time savings allowed the Nashville Soccer Club to play the entire 2022 season at GEODIS Park, generating revenue nearly two months earlier than anticipated. Portland International Airport’s (PDX) new main terminal has officially opened to passengers! As part of the #PDXNext initiative, this redevelopment brings a sustainable and resilient design to Oregon’s busiest airport. Using a modular approach, the innovative roof installation allowed the project team to minimize construction impacts on airport operations. As part of our construction engineering services, Walter P Moore designed a preloading system around the entire perimeter of the new structure, pulling down on the steel frame to permit the installation of the curtain wall system. We also provided assembly procedures, temporary works designs, and launch procedures for the roof cassettes. By coordinating the safe movement and installation of the pre-fabricated sections, we helped bring this transformational project to life, ensuring that PDX continues to offer an inviting experience for travelers. #MooreProjects #SustainableDesign #MassTimber #EngineeringExcellence

I loved seeing our Washington DC Office space highlighted in Daniella Blyakhman,'s feature on "Revolutionizing Workspaces with Circular Economy Principles" in the Walter P Moore Embodied Carbon Report https://lnkd.in/egQCFyCb "On the surface, it might be tempting to dismiss the embodied carbon emissions from interior spaces as inconsequential when compared to those of newly constructed buildings. However, the concept of “churn” introduces a crucial perspective. Interiors may undergo replacement multiple times during a building’s lifespan, and with approximately 60% of companies operating in a hybrid model —a percentage that continues to grow—the emissions stemming from redesigned workspaces are poised to play a more substantial role." Great work Daniella!
