Just wrapped up an amazing Cape Seal project in San Bernardino County! We applied 200,000 SY of 3/8 conventional chips topped with a Type 2 Slurry to create a durable and smooth Cape seal. This comprehensive project also involved extensive prep work, including crack filling and crack sealing, ensuring a long-lasting and resilient surface. Majority of the work took place in the beautiful Oak Hills, CA, and was completed over the course of two weeks. Project Update: Slurry Seal on US 6/95 in Tonopah, Nevada! We’re excited to share that VSS International was contracted by the Nevada Department of Transportation to perform a Slurry Seal on US 6/95 through the historic town of Tonopah, Nevada. Known as the Queen of the Silver Camps for its rich mining history, Tonopah lies halfway between Reno and Las Vegas. Our team of dedicated pavement maintenance professionals worked tirelessly at night to minimize disruption to residents, businesses, and travelers passing through Tonopah. This project included: Type 3 Slurry Seal & Installation of new Epoxy Pavement Striping and Thermoplastic Pavement Markings. At VSS, our motto is “The Right Treatment on the Right Road at the Right Time,” and this project is a perfect example of that statement. A Model of Success: VSS International & Caltrans District 8 Collaboration We are proud to spotlight our transformative partnership with Caltrans District 8 on the Route 330 enhancement project, the crucial artery to Big Bear Lake, Southern California's beloved outdoor recreation hub. By applying approximately 4,000 tons of Type III Slurry Seal, we significantly improved over 16 miles of this vital route, greatly enhancing its longevity and safety. Exciting News! VSS International’s Design Build Team has successfully completed a fiberized resurfacing project for the City of Lewiston, Idaho! This project kicked off last Fall and culminated in a double fiberized micro surfacing on 21st Street, a steeply graded road originally built on native soil with significant rutting. To ensure a smooth ride and prevent flushing, we profiled the roadway before the resurfacing. Key highlights: ✅ Installed 4 storm drains ✅ 36,000 sq ft of asphalt dig outs ✅40 new ADA compliant curb ramps All subcontract work was performed by local contractors, ensuring community involvement. We partnered with Ergon Asphalt & Emulsions, Inc. to develop a highly effective mix design using a polymer-modified (Eflex) emulsion and type III aggregate. We placed the Eflex with our VSS Macropaver 12-EX's - this combination filled in low areas and added a final layer of fiber slurry, enhancing the road's surface and extending its life until a full reconstruction can be undertaken. #VSSInternational #LewistonProject #RoadResurfacing #CommunityInvolvement #ErgonInc #FiberizedResurfacing #ADACompliance #InfrastructureUpgrade
