Today, we're celebrating Diego LeBaron's TWO-YEAR #Workiversary! Diego is part of our talented Information Technology team as our Network and Software Engineer. This kid is a rare breed of workaholic. He wrote his first lines of code at 12 and started his first business at 14. Still in his early 20s, he has turned off Call of Duty and likes to catch up with friends on the green instead. Sitting down with him it becomes apparent his passion for his work and what gets him up in the morning. Unsurprisingly, he is a reliable, trustworthy member of #TeamVizy. He mentioned that his favorite thing about VizyPay is the team's collaborative nature and willingness to get things done. Professionally, he is inspired by what the people around him can accomplish, which ignites his passion to level up. Diego is a knowledgeable and loyal team member, and we can't thank him enough for all he does! We're excited to see what year 3 has in store for you! Happy Workiversary, Diego!

Today we're celebrating a #TeamVizy OOG (Original-original gangsta)! Meet Jen Craun; our very own Logistics Team Lead. This day marks her 6th year at #VizyPay! Jen is one of a handful who started her VP journey at our very first office. She has been with us through thick and thin, and she's always learning more about the payments industry. She started in customer service but quickly moved to help grow our Underwriting department. She is now focused on creating efficiencies for our Logistics team. If you've ever visited our shipping room, you'd know that Jen loves watching comedy podcasts, no joke! You'll also find her hanging out with the crew at local concerts, but she has a soft spot for her native Wisconsin. She takes family very seriously, and she goes back home often to visit grandma. Jen's dedication and wealth of knowledge do not go unnoticed, and we can't thank her enough for everything she does! Happy workiversary, Jen!

It's finally September, which means our Business Development Strategist, Patrick Lovan, and his wife will welcome baby #2! To celebrate they went on a mini babymoon to Chicago to soak up some time alone as a couple and visit some of their best friends! They love visiting the Windy City during the summertime because there's always so much to do. During their trip they visited several local restaurants. The two spots that stood out the most were Shoo Loong Kan Hot Pot and Provare in West Loop! Hot pot is always a must for Pat when he travels and Shoo Loong Kan did NOT disappoint. The food was delicious, the service was great, and the atmosphere was chill. While at Provare, a Creole/Italian fusion restaurant, they enjoyed some of the best pasta Pat has ever had! The owners personally greeted each diner & sat every table. They noticed that Provare even had a speakeasy but weren't able to check it out due to a private party, which makes for the perfect excuse to return in the future! When asked if he had any advice for anyone traveling to Chi-Town, Pat said " We've been to Chicago dozens of times throughout my life, and my most significant advice is always to make time to visit the different parts of the city. There are many different neighborhoods, districts, parks, and areas to see. They're all unique and offer many different types of local restaurants/shops to see. Chicago is so large and chaotic that it's essential to take the time to focus on other areas for different types of businesses/places you want to enjoy, even if that means taking multiple trips there!" We're glad Pat is back in the office after a few days of #LookingLocalEverywhere! Where should #TeamVizy go next?!

Help us wish Jason Bahnsen, VizyPay's General Counsel and Chief Risk/Compliance Officer, a very happy #Workiversary! We are very excited! Let us give you a scenario of what his life is all about. We don't know if he does any doobie rollin' because that would be slander, but he certainly does not live in a van down by the river. Jason officially joined #TeamVizy three years ago and has been keeping us on the right track every day since. Jason shared that his favorite part about working at #VizyPay is how everyone cares for each other. Everyone is happy to help at a moment's notice. When asked, he shared he is inspired by his family and friends. Outside of work, he likes to rock out at concerts and hit the green with those close to him. Our buddy, our pal, our amigo…we can't thank you enough for all you do for #TeamVizy! We'd like to raise a cold one and wish you a happy Workiversary, Jason!

Today, we're celebrating Shelbie Gray's THREE-year Workiversary! Shelbie Gray is one of our extremely knowledgeable Client Success Specialists. This girl bleeds VizyPay's green; we're lucky she is part of #TeamVizy! Outside of work, she'll be hangin' with the team, sippin' on her Twisted Tea, and blasting Morgan Wallen. When asked who inspires her, she thanked her dad for teaching her the meaning of fearlessness, determination, trust, and perseverance. She hopes to grow and exhibit the same qualities as her dad. Shelbie is an honest, loyal, and passionate friend. We can't thank her enough for all she has done and continues to do for #TeamVizy! Happy Workiversary, Shelbie!

#TeamVizy has been busy #LookingLocalEverywhere ✈️ As part of our commitment to our "Work Hard, Play Hard" philosophy, we encourage our team to take time away from the office and support local businesses while doing so. In July our Tech Specialist Team Lead, Martin Reyes, took a family vacation to Treasure Island, FL. As soon as the plane landed, they made a beeline to La Pasadita Authentic Mexican Restaurant for some delicious grub! His fam has a tradition of staying at the Page Terrace Beachfront Hotel and this trip was no exception! The family dined at Hidalgo where they enjoyed a Mega sope. They even visited Dolphin Racer where they got to enjoy an up close experience! Of course no trip to Florida is complete with a visit to the happiest place in the world, Disney World! Despite the heat, Martin really loved being able to enjoy the rides and the food with his daughter. When asked if he had any advice for anyone traveling to Treasure Island and he said "My advice to someone traveling to Treasure Island is to make sure to check out the attractions in the area. The Race with the Dolphins was 100% worth sitting in the sun for 2 hours and visiting the beach at sunset, as the views are unlike anything here in Iowa." We're glad to have Martin back in the office but even happier that he was able to create some core memories with his daughter and family!
