Today is National Working Parents Day and here at Vivvi we know that working parents are a huge asset to every organization! Working parents are motivated, productive, efficient, patient, compassionate and so much more. We also know that sometimes being a working parent can feel more like a liability in the workplace. Here's a good reminder from Psychiatrist & Mental Health Expert Christin Drake about how you can change that lens: 1️⃣ Adjust your inner narrative from perception to reality. Know that what we've been told about the value of parents in the workplace is distorted, and some healthy skepticism is in order. 2️⃣ Fake it till you make it. Remind yourself each day of the work you do as a parent and dig deeper to find the connections between your parenting skills and the skills that give you an edge at work. 3️⃣ Share your parenting skills loudly and proudly, they are a part of what makes you such a huge asset in the workplace. What are you doing to celebrate yourself on this National Working Parents Day? #nationalworkingparentsday

In fact: 🚨 While 35% of employees overall are concerned about feeling burned out, that number rises to 60% for people caring for both children and parents 🚨 69% of employees in the sandwich generation are concerned about their mental health 🚨 More than 1 in 5 employee caregivers in the "sandwich generation" have left a job because of additional caregiving responsibilities Are you caring for your caregivers? Are parents quiet quitting at work? Not even close. In fact, working parents report that caregiving motivates them to: 💰 Make more money ⏰ Be productive and efficient ❤️ Do meaningful work Benefits and culture that support moms, dads, and other caregiving employees are more than just a “nice thing to do.” They’re a business imperative. Research from Vivvi and Lauren Smith Brody of The Fifth Trimester offers five key insights that show that parenthood motivates workers to be productive profit-drivers for their employers, and that workplace support for parents pays off. "This might just be the best benefit our company offers." When companies offer Vivvi backup child care for their working parents, they: 💡 Boost productivity. Caregivers can not only show up for work, but accomplish what they need to with peace of mind that their children are being cared for. 💡 Build loyalty. A working parent that feels valued is more likely to stay at their employer long-term and recommend that employer to others. 💡 Attract talent. Working parents are increasingly looking for employers that can support their caregiving needs—and are willing to leave employers that don't. Bravo to Havas for being a place that supports their caregiving employees at work and at home. At Vivvi, we love creating moments of joy and connection for working parents and their children. We were thrilled to support Etsy during their recent Family Day at their Brooklyn headquarters. It was an incredible afternoon of laughter, learning and fun with engaging activities hosted by our talented Vivvi educators, interactive storytelling with The Mom Project, a lively jam session with Jam with Jamie and more. Witnessing parents share the special place they work with their children and seeing the excitement on the kids' faces was truly inspiring. Thank you, Etsy, for inviting us to be a part of this wonderful event. We are proud to support you in creating a vibrant community for your employees and their families.

Would you rather have an immediate cash bonus of $10,000, or an ongoing child care subsidy of $10,000 per year? It turns out child care is sticky: job seekers look for it specifically, and workers who have it, stay. In fact, an overwhelming 9 out of 10 people chose the latter in a recent study included in Vivvi's white paper, "The R.O.I. of Caregiving Benefits" produced in partnership with Lauren Smith Brody. Before you solidify your employee benefits for the coming year, take a read of our full report and find out what truly drives working parents to thrive, grow and add value to your company's bottom line.
