If your fitness regimen is focused on just getting swole 💪 you might be skipping out on training the most important muscle of them all—your heart. Enter Zone 2 cardio rate training! 🤔 What the heck is Zone 2, you ask? Zone 2 (60 to 70% of your max heart rate) is the "fat-burning endurance" zone that helps you build an aerobic base and improve your body's ability to use fat for fuel. Zone 2 heart rate training is critical for boosting cardiovascular endurance and stamina, but it's important to note that many factors influence your individual rate, including age, fitness level, body composition, genetics, and stress. Brad Serwer, MD FACC FSCAI, a cardiologist and Chief Medical Officer at VitalSolution, adds "Everyone's baseline heart rate is different, but having a good understanding of your individual physiology is very beneficial in optimizing and personalizing your training." Find out more about Zone 2 training via Men's Journal: https://lnkd.in/gr7pTC-H

"What I believe works for people is that nurturing, supportive, honest, vulnerable, authentic place where I can individualize what you need." In the latest episode of the Clinician Voice podcast, Jennifer Barut, PhD, MSN, RN, Founder of InJoyLeadingLLC and Associate Professor at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing, discusses how her experience in nursing has influenced her approach to coaching and mentorship. She adds, "I get to know you and learn what you need to best serve you because everybody is different. And we need to acknowledge that one-size-fits-all leadership doesn't work...nurses need that individualization. And often we don't get it." 🎧 Tune into Dr. Barut's conversation with Robin Geiger, DNP, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, NP-C, NEA-BC here: https://lnkd.in/eXnZmHzs #Coaching #Nursing #Mentorship #Leadership

A recent study published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition observes evidence that may link the Mediterranean diet with lower heart failure risk, particularly in women. A Mediterranean-type diet is the heart-healthiest diet because it includes healthier fats derived from fresh foods, especially vegetables, fruits, and fish. So does this mean you need to trash everything in your refrigerator and take a trip to the supermarket? Not so fast. St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in rural Enid, Oklahoma, has recently made significant advancements in the care and services it offers to Oklahomans. Dr. Lior Shamai, a cardiologist and medical director at the facility, says the hospital has made great strides over the last two years in enhancing its technology, including "the Medtronic Micra leadless pacemaker which can be implanted both via the groin and has been successfully implanted via the right jugular vein. which allow very short downtime and for a same-day discharge." VitalSolution's cardiology team in Enid has also upgraded their offerings to include biventricular intracardiac defibrillators and placements and upgrades can be completed now. Dr. Shamai adds, "This technology and skills developed not only enhances patient care by offering a less invasive option but also reaffirms our commitment to bringing the latest medical advancements to Enid and the state of Oklahoma." We are incredibly grateful to Dr. Shamai and the entire cardiology team at St. Mary's for their dedication and commitment to our mission of expanding lifesaving healthcare services to rural and underserved communities. #Cardiology #MedicalAdvancements #RuralHealth
