Virtua is thrilled to launch the region's very first program dedicated to addressing pregnancy-related depression and mood disorders. Having a baby is often portrayed as the happiest moment of your life. But for many families, it can be an incredibly challenging time. In fact, did you know that 20% of families face mood disorders during or after pregnancy? Our community needs more support, and we're here to fill that gap. The Virtua Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMAD) Program is designed to offer compassionate, specialized care for new and expectant moms dealing with depression, anxiety, and postpartum trauma. With personalized one-on-one and group therapy led by licensed clinical social workers, we're committed to creating a supportive, family-centered environment.

August is National Ambulatory Surgery Center Month—a time to celebrate the vital role these centers play in providing high quality, efficient outpatient care. Virtua is proud to recognize our dedicated joint venture team and our 41 affiliated ASCs in the tristate region. Their commitment has earned 31 of our affiliated centers a spot on U.S. News & World Report's list of Best Ambulatory Surgery Centers. Plus, 8 facilities were recognized as top performers in colonoscopy, endoscopy, orthopedics & spine, ophthalmology, and urology. From all of us at Virtua Health, thank you to the amazing staff and clinicians for making this possible and delivering outstanding care every day!

To recognize National Minority Donor Awareness Month, our Colleague Communities came together to discuss the critical need for organ donors in minority communities. We shared powerful stories, including a patient’s inspiring journey with a direct donor. Thank you to everyone who joined us in supporting this vital cause. Because as an unknown author once said, "Organ donation is not about giving up part of yourself; it's about a stranger giving up almost all of themselves to keep part of you alive.”
