Congratulations to Mike Rifenburgh on his promotion to Captain! Capt. Rifenburgh is from Dutchess County, New York, and grew up in a healthcare-oriented family, which sparked his passion for medicine. For more than a decade, he worked in various hospitals across the country, including in New York, Seattle, Minneapolis, and Virginia Beach. In 2015, Mike joined VB Rescue at Princess Anne Courthouse Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Department Inc. after earning his EMT certification from Tidewater Community College (TCC). He furthered his education at TCC, achieving both his paramedic certification and an EMS degree. Mike gained valuable experience with Chesapeake Fire and Norfolk Fire & Rescue. In April 2020, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, Mike returned to VB Rescue EMS, where he spent two years on B-Shift. He then transitioned to the training department as the ALS Coordinator, focusing on developing the ALS internship and release programs to enhance training and preparedness in the field. Join us in congratulating Capt. Rifenburgh on this recent accomplishment. Thank you for growing with Virginia Beach EMS! #promotion #congratulations #vbrescue #vbems #ems #virginiabeach #captain #career #paramedic
