Healing Through Hard Work
About us
V.E.T.S. provides a serene place for military veterans to go that provides therapeutic healing through equine-related activities and life skills training shared by highly skilled instructors, staff and trained volunteers. V.E.T.S encourages growing a series of skills, based in empathy, horse nature and warrior nature that our Veterans can use outside of the barn to live fuller, longer and more fulfilling lives. V.E.T.S. exists to provide our services at no charge to our clients ever. Veterans can stay in the program as long as they wish and are encouraged to become volunteers or assistant instructors. Many of our volunteers and staff are veterans themselves and understand the challenges veterans face. Our program can assist with reintegrating into domestic life after experiencing the psychological trauma and physical wounds of war or life after service. If you are in our area, please reach out to us on our site and come and see what we do.

Today is #InternationaldayofCharity Day! Every year on September 5th, the world comes together to celebrate International Charity Day, a day dedicated to recognizing the role that charity plays in alleviating human suffering and advancing social causes. This day reminds us of our collective responsibility to support those in need and to contribute to the betterment of our communities. Whether it's volunteering, donating, or mentoring someone in need, every act of kindness counts. Veterans Equine Therapeutic Services knows that these small gestures can have a ripple effect, inspiring others to do the same and fostering a sense of solidarity and community. How You Can Make a Difference On this #internationaldayofcharity , consider how you can contribute to causes, like V.E.T.S., that matter most to you. Here are a few ways to help: 1. **Donate:** Financial contributions to trusted charities can have a significant impact. Even small donations can help provide essential resources to those in need. 2. **Volunteer:** Offer your time and skills. Whether it's an hour a week or a day a month, your efforts can make a meaningful difference. 3. **Advocate:** Use your voice to raise awareness about the causes you care about. Share information on social media, talk to friends and family, and encourage others to get involved. 4. **Support Sustainable Development:** Consider contributing to initiatives that promote long-term, sustainable solutions to global challenges, mental health, education, and economic empowerment. Reflect and Act 💪🏻🎆 Today, let's challenge ourselves to think beyond our immediate circles and consider how we can contribute to the global good. Together, we can create a world where compassion and generosity lead the way, and where everyone has the opportunity to live with dignity and hope. Let’s unite! Every act of kindness counts, and together, we can build a better future for all, including our veterans and military community. September is National Suicide Prevention Month—a time to raise awareness and take action. Alarming statistics show that military members are at a higher risk, with approximately 17 veterans taking their lives each day. Let’s break the stigma, offer support, and ensure our heroes get the help they need. You are not alone. Veterans Equine Therapeutic Services helps to provide the military and veteran community with therapeutic programming in order to enhance their quality of life. While we are not licensed therapists, we offer an outlet and community to help those who are struggling. #SuicidePrevention #SupportOurTroops #MentalHealthMatters #supportmilitary #supportveterans #community #vetsct #nonprofit #giveback #equinetherapy

Remembering August 14: A Day of Historic Significance 🇺🇸🌏 On this day, we commemorate two pivotal moments in history. Firstly, on August 14, 1945, the world rejoiced as the end of World War II with Japan was officially announced. This momentous occasion marked the beginning of peace after years of global conflict, bringing hope and relief to millions. Today, we honor the bravery and sacrifice of all who served and those who supported the war effort from the home front. Secondly, we celebrate National Navajo Code Talkers Day, paying tribute to the extraordinary Navajo Code Talkers who played a crucial role in securing victory during World War II. Using their unique language to develop an unbreakable code, these brave individuals were instrumental in ensuring the success of countless military operations. Their legacy is a testament to the power of cultural heritage and innovation in the face of adversity. Let’s take a moment to reflect on these significant events and express our gratitude for the courage and contributions of those who made history on this day. #WWIIVictory #NavajoCodeTalkers #HeroesAmongUs #EndOfWar #LegacyOfBravery #vetsct #remember #honor #nonprofit #giveback #community
