📢Boise Entrepreneur Week is not just an event; it's a convergence of minds and resources aimed at fostering innovation, confidence, and a robust economic landscape. Our Military Track offers tailored programming to empower those who have served or are connected to the military in launching and growing their business ventures. 💵 $10,000 in total prize money 💵Military-connected entrepreneurs can compete for first place with a prize of $5,000, second place with $3,000, or third place with $2,000. 📁 Application Process 📁 The application process features two rounds of evaluation. Round 1 requires applicants to provide detailed information about their team, business, product/service, and to submit a pitch deck in a format of their choice (Powerpoint, Google Slides, PDF, etc.). Selected applicants from Round 1 will move on to Round 2, which involves a qualitative interview with a review committee member. Finalists from Round 2 will compete in the pitch competition on October 2nd at JUMP during Boise Entrepreneur Week. ✅ Eligibility Criteria ✅ To participate, applicants must meet the following: - Be a currently serving military/guard/reserve member, veteran, or military/veteran spouse - Be residing and building a business in Idaho - Have progressed beyond the idea stage, preferably in initial launch, seed, start-up, or early growth stages - Have played a pivotal role in conceiving or developing the business - Hold a significant equity stake in the venture - Mission43 and/or VEA membership is preferred but not required. What does this mean? You will set up a fundraising page a lot like the Facebook Fundraisers you've probably seen and set a goal to raise $500. If at the end of the challenge we have raised at least $12,500 we move on to the next challenge. The Veteran Entrepreneur Alliance was selected to be one of the competitors on this brand new nonprofit competition show. There have been 2 rounds so far and two nonprofits have been selected. We are competing in the 3rd round for the final spot in the finale! See below for info about the first challenge, we need to pack to room with no less than 40 people that identify as VEA supporters at check-in. If we don't, we are eliminated and do not move on in the contest. You're Invited! Join us for an unforgettable evening at the Heritage Social Club in Garden City, where you’ll be part of the Nonprofit MVP Television Show! This special event, filmed by the Las Vegas television network, will showcase a live fundraising competition featuring various nonprofits as they navigate their fundraising challenge. Enjoy a no-host bar and a selection of delicious food available for purchase while you mingle with the other guests and the nonprofits. Think of this event as an adult “trick or treating” experience :) .Nonprofits will creatively and informatively ask for donations, with each having 3-4 representatives working the crowd. Your role is to listen, and if you feel inclined, donate to those organizations. You will have the opportunity to do so using a link or by scanning a QR code through Fundly.com. After engaging with and supporting one or all of the nonprofits, you will receive an item such as a bracelet, necklace, or lapel pin. This will indicate to other representatives that you’ve already been approached. It is possible that you’ll be approached by all organizations during this 2 hour event. This event will be filmed, and we'll have numerous cameras around the room as interactions and interviews will be captured throughout the evening. This show will be broadcast locally and nationally as part of the third round of the Nonprofit MVP show, culminating in a grand finale in January at the Grove Hotel.
