The event was a resounding success, bringing teams together to celebrate some of the outstanding achievements from across the UK. Historic Day at #THE_KEEP! September 14, 2024 marked the first day of play at The Keep and it exceeded all expectations. We look forward to welcoming our members, guests, and friends for future rounds! 13 Players and 13 caddies representing the many members, investors, designers, contractors, maintenance, operations, executives, board, and the many families that contributed to the realization of our newest course McLemore Resort . Charlie Rymer* announced all players as they teed off on the first hole in full form and only as Charlie can. Greg Lecker*, Director of Golf and Doug Amor*, Head Professional along with Michael Burton, Managing Director had the operations, and the experience dialed in and were only matched by the natural setting and the course prepped and ready for play by Ryan Emerson, Director of Agronomy and Stephen Brewer, Superintendent. Architects Bill Bergin*, Steve Weisser*, and Matt Bergin* all joined for the historic round as well as Rees Jones by phone to take in their masterful work in this elevated landscape with majestic views across the entire course and beyond. Board Members and Investors Daryl Mann*, John Bierly*, Ryan Crimmins*, Dan Kiley*, Tom Lowe*, and William Duane Horton *, also serving as President, all joined to represent the countless individuals that contributed to the making of this day and the future enjoyment for generations to come. McLemore’s own Touring Pro, @Stephan Jaeger* also attended the historic event and established the low score for the day with a one under par score of 71 by draining a lengthy putt on the 18th hole with all in attendance observing in great anticipation. Special thanks to Scott Veazey, Clyde Hall, and Lance Studer with Southeastern Golf, Contractor for taming a natural and rugged site to create what many are already saying is a pure golf experience in a fantasy golf setting. Also, thank you to Marcus Cox and CaddieMaster for the launch and execution of our caddie program. In one week, and with a little more work, the course opens for Member Play only from the September 21st – 27th and then opens for Preview Play for Resort Guests and Friends the afternoon of September 27th through mid-summer 2025 before officially opening. An official Grand Opening Ceremony will be scheduled for all contributors in late Summer 2025. *played
