Recap of Mental Health Awareness Week! We are delighted to share that Mental Health Awareness Week, which took place from August 12th to August 16th, was a tremendous success! Last week was dedicated to promoting the importance of mental health and well-being, and we had a series of fun activities that engaged everyone. Activities included a donut pep rally with special guests & founder of Be Nice., Christy Buck herself, a gratitude wall, a Be Nice. movie viewing with popcorn (of course!), a mental health awareness brain teaser quiz, and an ice-cream social with the Be nice. pledge banner signing. Remember, Be Nice. stands for Notice, Invite, Challenge, and Empower—a mission we’re all about! Throughout the week, we came together to recognize the significance of mental health in our lives. By participating, we fostered a supportive and open environment where everyone felt comfortable discussing and prioritizing their mental well-being. Each day, participants (employees) earned raffle tickets for our grand prize drawing. Thank you to everyone who joined in on the festivities and helped make this week a memorable and impactful one. Let’s continue to support each other and promote mental health! Mental Health Foundation of West Michigan #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek #ValleyTruckParts #BeNice #MentalWellBeing #SupportEachOther

Valley Truck Parts had an amazing day! We want to express our heartfelt thanks to our friends at Merle Boes, Inc. (Eric Miller & Amanda Sheldon) for hosting a wonderful employee appreciation lunch. Our team had a great time enjoying a delicious meal in the beautiful sunshine, and we are extremely grateful for the partnership and support that made this special afternoon possible! We'd also like to extend a big thank you to Kim Kelly with Trinity Health for joining us and assisting in distributing cookies to our team members today. We deeply appreciate all our Healthcare Navigators at Trinity for their ongoing support of our employees.

Valley employees had the pleasure of participating in a fantastic Lunch n' Learn session with the YMCA yesterday around the topic of Blue Zones. We are grateful for our continued partnership. It was a wonderful opportunity to share knowledge and insights while connecting with the community. Looking forward to more collaborative events in the future! Thank you, Camille & Ashlee. See you both next month.

Registered Dietitian, Specializing in Community Nutrition & Outpatient Counseling. Owner of EasyPeasyNutrition LLC - Dietitian for YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids

I’m incredibly thankful for all the preceptors that helped me along the way to become a dietitian. Now I can be a preceptor to some amazing dietetic interns! I am grateful to have had Ashlee by my side to conquer this food demonstration. I presented on Blue Zones, and we created a fun and fresh salad recipe to give out to the participants. I strongly believe in healthy food demonstrations, as involving the senses of taste, smell and touch can bridge the gap between someone thinking about adopting a healthier lifestyle, to then doing it. Plus, who doesn’t love a free sample??? Thank you Valley Truck Parts for having us! Ashlee is from Grand Valley University and is here for ten weeks at the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids #registereddietitian #communitynutrition #cooking #internship

Shared across two-days, 600+ Michigan students learned about careers in heavy equipment technology through Ferris State University’s “Diesel Days” event, hosted at its Big Rapids campus’ Heavy Equipment Center on Wednesday, October 11th and Thursday, October 12th. Presented by the university’s College of Engineering Technology, the event offered high school, vocational school and community college students a closer look at educational options and career paths in the rapidly growing heavy equipment field. School districts with students in attendance included Tuscola, Bar Arenac, Canton, Network NW, Alma, Eaton, Ionia, Ottawa Career Tech Center, Mecosta, Montcalm, Newaygo, Kent, and Lapeer to name a few. We were grateful to attend a second year in a row and look forward to next year!
