Jennifer Angus, professor of Design Studies and the Kay Vaughan Faculty Fellow of Design + Innovation, was featured in an artnet article. The exhbition "The Golden Hour" at the Bruce Museum features around 5,000 recycled insect bodies arranged in intricate patterns to highlight environmental issues like climate change and habitat loss. The show includes dioramas, stained-glass-like displays with insect parts, and anthropomorphized bug characters. Jennifer aims to change perceptions about insects and emphasize the urgency of environmental conservation. I am thrilled to announce that I graduated in May from the School of Human Ecology, University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Architecture and a certificate in Graphic Design! I want to express appreciation for my time with UW-Madison Housing, where I had the opportunity to work as a Graphic Design and Interior Design Assistant. Thank you to my mentors and colleagues who provided invaluable experiences and mentorship that have shaped my professional growth. Today, I am happy to share that I have joined Eppstein Uhen Architects (EUA) in Milwaukee as an Interior Design Intern in the Workplace Studio. I am looking forward to this new chapter and the opportunities to learn and contribute to innovative design solutions. Thank you to everyone who has been part of my journey. I'm excited for this next chapter of my life and feel extremely proud to be a Badger Alum.

Jennifer Gaddis, associate professor of Civil Society & Community Studies, co-wrote an op-ed in The Guardian US about free school lunches in other countries, and how the U.S. could benefit from a similar program. Jennifer explains how public school food programs can be transformed to emphasize care, justice and sustainability. Her work highlights the importance of treating school food as a public good, and the benefits of adopting practices from other countries that provide free, nutritious and locally sourced meals prepared from scratch. Jennifer's research and advocacy underline the need for systemic change in the U.S. school food system to improve student well-being and support local food economies. Congratulations to Emma Flanagan, a PhD student in the Human Development & Family Studies program. She is one of 32 award winners in the Russell Sage Foundation Dissertation Research Grants program. Emma research focuses on the social safety net and families' experiences navigating income support programs. Her dissertation will be supported by this award as she investiagates how grocery store employees make decisions about administering SNAP and WIC benefits. Congratulations to Linnea Hjelm, a PhD student in the Civil Society & Community Research program. She is one of 15 UW–Madison faculty and staff to be named a Morgidge Fellow. The Morgidge Fellow program, in collaboration with the Morgridge Center for Public Service, supports community-engaged scholarship across campus. Fellows receive a $1,500 stipend that can be used for conference attendance, resource materials or other professional development activities. Linnea is a dedicated partner of a local sexual violence resource center and has worked on curriculum development and evaluation projects alongside youth and community leaders. Her research explores the benefits of youth leadership in sexual violence prevention and uses transformative participatory design to engage young people as experts and evaluators.
