UTILITY TrailerConnect telematics provide full connectivity to the 3000R's TABS8 ABS with trailer roll stability. The telematics system not only provides location and geofencing; the base system also provides these features: • Full connectivity to TRAILER ABS, communicating braking status • Trailer miles, based on tire rotation for greatest accuracy • Load weight on trailer suspension • Tire air loss warning (based on light indicator from ATIS system) • Low pressure warning for red air line (to warn of system air loss, or insufficient air pressure from the truck) • Air disc brake pad wear indication (optional with air disc brakes) Use Utility’s front end portal, or have the data forwarded to 3rd party systems such as Orbcomm. Debuting on display at this week’s #IFDASolutions Conference, Utility is excited to unveil its new Cargobull Liftgate Battery Charger as an integrated option with Cargobull 625 & 655MT Hybrid TRUs. The Liftgate Battery Charger helps keep trailers’ liftgate batteries topped off and in optimum charge condition. The device takes 480 volts of electrical energy from the Cargobull TRU to provide liftgate batteries low-voltage charging with a maximum output of 40 amps or 480 watts of power. The new system is entirely separate from the charger that maintains the Cargobull TRUs’ starting battery. Conveniently located close to the liftgate battery pack, the Liftgate Battery Charger routes 480 volts through a high-quality conduit to protect the cable from normal wear and tear. The Trident® composite steel shell brake drum from Accuride is now standard on all Utility trailer models. Reducing weight by 24 pounds per wheel end, totaling 96 pounds for a dual axle trailer, this makes them lighter than standard cast iron drums, enabling fleets to maximize payloads and lower costs. Utility made the Trident® drum standard on all its flatbed models in 2020, and customers have experienced superior performance since. Five years later, Utility is providing reefer and dry van customers to take advantage of the weight savings. All 2026 model Utility reefers, dry vans and flatbeds will now come with the Trident as a base specification. Mark Glasgow, Chief of Sales for Utility stated, "Our continuous testing programs, both in the field and in the lab, have proven the Trident to be the highest quality drums on the market. It comes as no surprise that the Trident drum has been an overwhelming success on our flatbeds, and as an option on our reefers and dry vans. While air disc brakes are the gold standard when it comes to trailer braking, steel shell drums, and specifically the Trident drum, provide an excellent alternative without the added cost." "We are very excited to support all of Utility's premium braking requirements across all their models,” stated Scott Neill, Vice President of Sales - Trailer & Aftermarket for Accuride. “Utility has been an industry leader for 110 years. By including Trident drum as standard equipment on all models, they continue to demonstrate their commitment to advanced braking systems and other safety features in their trailers.”
