Together, we will rebuild. Together, we recover. Recovery efforts are continuing in Chimney Rock following the devastating impacts of Hurricane Helene. Teams continue to work tirelessly to clean up the downtown area, where nearly all businesses were affected, and several bridges were washed out. USACE has mobilized 35 FEMA Federal Emergency Management Agency Mission Assignments to assist in the recovery. This includes vital support like Temporary Emergency Power, Infrastructure Assessment, and Debris Management. While USACE plays a critical role, we are part of a larger Army and DOD team collaborating with federal, state, and local partners. The Wilmington District is at the forefront of these efforts, ensuring support reaches those in need throughout western North Carolina. #Helene24 #Helene2024 #HurricaneHelene #HurricaneHelene2024 #EmergencyResponse #ChimneyRock #NorthCarolina #WesternNorthCarolina #Asheville #USACE #ArmyCorps
