Initiating a high-speed rail project in America is not for the faint-hearted! To help groups that want to begin this challenging process, US High Speed Rail has created this guide for advocates. The roadmap we developed was driven largely by the efforts of lead author Bernard Cohen, of ACI in Boston, who drew on the broad experience of our Coalition members and many others. USHSR also wants to thank the IAM (Machinists Union) Communications Dept. for designing and producing the booklet and all the graphics that make the guide very easy to follow. We encourage readers to share this straightforward advocacy guide within their networks and beyond. Our Coalition members are some of our best ambassadors! #BuildHSR https://lnkd.in/gsJGVtjq

About us
The premier organization focused on advancing a modern, national High-Speed Rail (HSR) network across the United States. Our mission is to build widespread public, business, and political support for a major infrastructure investment that provides a fast, safe, & reliable form of intercity transportation. We provide a forum to bring together key stakeholders to develop a coalition of national support. Outreach includes a range of conferences, educational forums, legislative testimony, networking events, tours, and on-line media. Our voice reaches across federal, state, city, and grassroots levels. Our vision entails a national HSR express system connecting major cities together with a support network of regional trains and urban transit rail. The system will incorporate high standards for inter-operable networks, dedicated track, advanced control systems, multi-modal train stations, and state-of-the-art 220 mph trains. Adoption of this new transportation system will revive our economy by creating millions of value-added jobs and making the business sector more productive with reliable intercity travel. The manufacturing base will be revived with demand for basic materials such as steel & copper and the fabrication of advanced train sets. It will be the catalyst for sustainable urban real estate development, significantly reduce dependence on fossil fuels, and provide efficient mobility that's safe and affordable for its passengers.

Check out this terrific piece by Smart Cities Dive that focuses on USHSR's new high-speed rail start-up advocacy guide. We especially want to thank lead author and USHSR Coalition member Bernard Cohen of ACI. As the author notes, initiating a high-speed rail line is "not for the faint-hearted." https://lnkd.in/gm-5tkme

ALL ABOARD! Reps. Moulton and DelBene just introduced the American High Speed Rail Act of 2024. The bill has 25 co-sponsors right out of the station! LANDMARK BILL WOULD INVEST $205 BILLION INTO AMERICAN HIGH-SPEED RAIL PROJECTS AND CREATE OVER 2 MILLION JOBS OVER 5 YEARS. We look forward to working with Congress, DOT/FRA, and the White House to ensure a steady stream of federal funding for years to come. Time for America to join the high-speed rail revolution! #BuildHSR https://bit.ly/48QZT0b

Terrific #latimes piece underscores that reconnecting and revitalizing rural communities are two of the primary goals of a well-developed high-speed rail network. #BulletTrains The Central Valley is a heavily farmed region — historically separated from Los Angeles, San Francisco and the California coast by both conservative politics and physical distance — and it is first in line to benefit from a high-speed rail infrastructure project being built with tens of billions of dollars in state and federal funding. https://lnkd.in/gM7rdH2k
