  • ULMT President and CEO Clifton Harris and Vice President of Workforce Development Frank Bouyer participated as panelists during the recent COMTO Nashville Transportation Symposium, held on the campus of Tennessee State University. The panel discussion also included Dewayne Scott, Deputy Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, and was moderated by Vince Malone with WEGO. COMTO’s mission is to provide full access to employment, career, and contract opportunities for minorities within the transportation industry. Participants for the day-long conference included small and minority business owners in the transportation industry. Other speakers for the event were Nashville Mayor Freddie, speaking on the topic of transit; Reggie Polk,(R.E.D. Academy alum), Don Hardin, Bob Mendes, addressing developments for the East Bank project; and representatives from the Governor’s DBE Office and officials from the US Department Of Transportation, focused on advocating for small and minority businesses to get federal government contracts.
