“You actually need to have participation between both employers and the government in order to really normalize it and say, ‘This is not a social issue; this is actually an economic issue. This isn’t a mom issue; this is a family issue.’” — Jessica Chang, CEO and Co-Founder of Upwards. The 19th' Darreonna Davis dove into the importance of public-private partnerships to support families with their childcare needs. She highlights the need for companies like Upwards to facilitate new community initiatives and act as a liaison to bring key stakeholders together to solve a common issue. Through Upwards, Dollywood provides childcare benefits to its employees, including a monthly stipend to help offset costs, especially for those with non-traditional hours. "By partnering with Upwards, we have been able to help our [employees] find trusted providers who are able to accommodate the varying work schedules found at our properties,” Susan Loveday, the Vice President of Human Resources at Dollywood Parks and Resorts, told The 19th. “Additionally, to help with the cost of child care, we provide a monthly stipend to those [employees] whose children are cared for by an Upwards provider.” Read more on childcare solutions here: https://lnkd.in/eR5A7-qQ
