Exciting news this morning out of Modern Healthcare. eVisit is proud to announce the acquisition of UPMC’s inpatient teleconsult technology alongside strategic direct investments by UPMC Enterprises and MedStar Health. The acquisition of UPMC’s inpatient teleconsult technology platform will considerably expand our inpatient telehealth capabilities and further advance our collaboration with health systems across ambulatory and inpatient care settings. We are honored to newly partner with UPMC Enterprises, and we welcome Andrew Watson, MD, UPMC Enterprises senior medical advisor and past president of the American Telemedicine Association, to our Clinical Advisory Board. Through its separate investment and agreements, MedStar Health, the leading healthcare provider in Maryland and the Washington, D.C. region is building upon a history of innovation and eVisit-related partnerships since 2018. MedStar Health also provides eVisit with ongoing clinical expertise, product development support, and go-to-market advisory services. MEET OUR TEAM: Julian Hassinger, PhD VP Corporate Development Julian Hassinger is the Director of Strategy and Operations for Avista Therapeutics. He is also a Senior Associate on the Translational Sciences team at UPMC Enterprises, the life sciences venture capital arm of UPMC, where he sources and conducts due diligence on investment opportunities and provides portfolio companies with strategic and operational support. Prior to joining UPMC and Avista, Julian earned his PhD in Biophysics at the University of California, Berkeley. He subsequently joined the Life Sciences practice at L.E.K.
