A new era in cancer care is here in West Michigan. UM Health-West is proud to be the first hospital in the region to offer histotripsy—a groundbreaking non-invasive cancer treatment, developed at the University of Michigan, that uses focused ultrasound to destroy tumors without surgery. This week, the Cancer Network of West Michigan treated its first patient, Gregory, who chose histotripsy to fight liver cancer. The Network is a collaboration between UM Health-West and Trinity Health Grand Rapids and Muskegon, offering patients access to leading specialists, clinical trials and the latest cancer treatments. A special thanks to Trinity Health MI and Van Andel Institute leaders who celebrated this milestone with us, and to the UM Health-West Foundation for its generous funding that made this advancement possible. https://bit.ly/3XZEj6b
