It's hard to have spent so long in Afghanistan throughout OEF and see it all washed away with an expedited exit and an attack of this level that went unanswered and unpunished. As the United States pulled out, scores of my friends and team mates who served in theater felt an immense sense of loss. We were chalking up our time spent in combat as nothing more than a political science experiment that was pissed away due to campaign promises. The Abby Gate bombing is an immense tragedy and loss of American life. The worse thing we can do here is to forget their names and not learn from the mistakes we've made. War is not to be taken lightly and should not be for political gain. My only hope is our politicians will learn from what I consider one of the greatest losses in our nation's history. The loss of these Americans could have been avoided and these service members could still be alive today. The policy makers, politicians and commanders need to be held accountable for this.

Today marks three years since we lost the 13 U.S. service members who made the ultimate sacrifice during the Abbey Gate bombing in Afghanistan. Their bravery and commitment to our nation and mission will never be forgotten. We honor their memory and stand in solidarity with their families, friends, and fellow service members who continue to bear the weight of this tragedy. Remember their names - Marine Corps Staff Sgt. We've witnessed disturbing images from our nation's capital recently, depicting the intentional desecration of the American flag. This disrespectful act, carried out without consequences, cannot overshadow the immense sacrifices made by our service members to defend our flag and the freedoms it represents. While they may attempt to tarnish its symbolism through burning, they will never succeed in erasing its true meaning. Despite these challenges, the American spirit remains resilient. Yesterday, the University of Health and Performance proudly raised the tallest flag in Arkansas, soaring 1206 feet above sea level into the sky. This monumental gesture stands as a powerful response to any anti-American sentiments. Together, we uphold the values and honor the sacrifices that have shaped the essence of our flag. #AmericanPride #Resilience

  • "Goddamn it, you'll never get the Purple Heart hiding in a foxhole! Follow me!" (Captain Henry P. "Jim" Crowe, USMC, Guadalcanal, 13 January 1943.) Today, we honor and recognize the brave men and women who have received the Purple Heart, a symbol of their courage and sacrifice in service to our nation. Since its inception, over 1.8 million service members have been awarded this prestigious medal. The Purple Heart is bestowed upon those who have been wounded or killed while serving, acknowledging their incredible bravery and dedication. Let us take a moment to remember and appreciate the sacrifices made by these heroes. Their selflessness and valor continue to inspire us all. We’d also like to recognize the students and instructors of UHP who’ve received the Purple Heart. Your sacrifice to our nation does not go unnoticed. - #PurpleHeartDay
