🌟 Scholarship Spotlight: Aidan Eckles 🌟 Aiden Eckles, the recipient of the USGIF Graduating High School Senior Scholarship, is starting his studies at the University of Maine, majoring in Forestry with a minor in GIS. A recent graduate of Winters Mill High School, Aidan has already showcased his GIS expertise, earning the Award of Excellence at the Carroll County Career and Technology Center for his Senior Capstone project analyzing land cover change in Carroll County. To further his skills, Aidan obtained his Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 107 license, allowing him to fly drones commercially. He aims to apply his GIS knowledge to forestry studies at the University of Maine, with the goal of making a significant impact on the health of American forests. "I am very grateful to the United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation for awarding me this scholarship. I wish to study both forestry and GIS in college, however my home state of Maryland does not have any colleges that offer a four-year program in both forestry and GIS. This scholarship will go a long way toward allowing me to afford a comprehensive education at the University of Maine, helping me make a difference in both the forestry and GIS communities. I look forward to expanding my GIS skills and using them to improve the health of American forests." Congratulations, Aidan, on your accomplishments and this well-deserved scholarship! Your dedication to both forestry and GIS is truly inspiring. 🌳✨ #USGIF #Forestry #GeospatialIntelligence #GEOINT #GIS #FutureofGEOINT Carroll County Public Schools Ronda Schrenk Carrie Drake Gary Dunow Christine Devine (MacKrell) Molly Brady
