It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Matthew Brock, a cherished member of our United Access family, on August 3, 2024, at the age of 44. Matt's life exemplified resilience and strength. Despite immense challenges including a spinal cord injury that led to Quadriplegia, he earned a master’s degree in counseling and dedicated over 20 years to helping others with spinal cord injuries. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the two recipients of his donated kidneys.
In 2023, Matt and his mother, Vickie, purchased a 2020 Black BraunAbility Van from our St. Louis location, symbolizing independence, and renewed hope for Matt. Their journey also guided his cousin Stacy and her family in acquiring a 2017 White BraunAbility Van from our San Diego team, providing Stacy, who faces severe athetoid cerebral palsy, with continued independence.
Reflecting on Matt's life, his aunt Vickie stated, “Our BraunAbility Vans are more than just vehicles. They are symbols of hope, freedom, and connection for many families worldwide.”
Rest in peace, Matt. Your legacy of strength and compassion will continue to inspire us all. 💙
