Thank you to KU Medical Center for hosting an impactful Healthy KC seminar during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We learned vital insights into health disparities, including that Black women in Missouri experience a 50% higher mortality rate from breast cancer than their white counterparts, despite lower diagnosis rates. With new tech, supportive legislation, and resources from groups like the American Cancer Society and Gilda’s Club, ongoing awareness is crucial. This event was a great reminder that while October highlights the need, support is essential year-round. ✨
