The STEM Innovation Hub pilot program at Mawngap District Christian Multi-Purpose HS School celebrated its first STEM Exhibition today, impressing the audience with innovative projects and the students' deep understanding gained from the STEM sessions. From robotics to hands-on experiments, students showcased how they’ve channeled their curiosity into learning, all thanks to the dedicated efforts of their teachers, principal, and school administration. Their hard work has enabled students to experience hands-on learning, sparking a love for STEM (science, technology, engineering, and maths). For over a year, Smart Village Movement (SVM) and Curiosity Gym have provided continuous support to the school, making this program a reality. Shri Swapnil Tembe, IAS, Director of School Education & Literacy, and State Project Director, Samagra Shiksha, Meghalaya, attended as the chief guest. He commended the students’ projects and encouraged the school to introduce a science stream while expanding the program’s reach to benefit more students across the state. As part of the Foundational Learning Improvement Programme (FLIP), Smart Village Movement (SVM) Village Movement and Madhi Foundation, organised a 3-day Teacher Training Program in Williamnagar, East Garo Hills. This transformative initiative equips teachers with innovative skills to improve Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) in the region. The training focuses on hands-on techniques for developing and delivering impactful teaching-learning materials, continuous monitoring, and adapting lessons based on children's individual learning levels in language and maths—a shift from traditional, textbook-driven methods.
