A small gesture of kindness by Rad Tech Alicia Johnson made a huge impact on a patient. “Alicia was assisting me with a patient who came in with a walker. The patient was commenting to us about her squeaky wheels and joking about how she couldn't sneak up on anyone. She also mentioned that at a previous appointment, at a different facility, the staff tried to find WD40 to stop the wheel from squeaking. As soon as that was said, Alicia knew we had some in the X-ray department and found it. After finishing the patient’s X-rays, Alicia came in and sprayed the walker’s wheels, and the patient was ecstatic to have a quiet walker!” *Every month we recognize a TCO team member who was nominated for making a difference in someone’s life. As a small token of thanks, we partnered with local artist Claire Ward to create a one-of-a-kind art piece featuring an image of the recipient’s choosing.

His first-ever Olympics was an unforgettable experience!   From keeping the USA Men’s Soccer team healthy and strong during their run to the quarterfinals to having his parents there for the first two matches, Sports Physical Therapist Mike Shirilla is proud of his time in Paris.   Favorite memory: Working the quarterfinal match. The atmosphere was electric within the Parc des Princes stadium. It’s the home stadium of the world-famous club, Paris Saint-Germain, so that was exciting to be able cover a major tournament match there.   Biggest challenge: The condensed game schedule. We played every three days, so the logistics of travel and moving our equipment to multiple cities was a challenge. That schedule also makes it very hard to get our players fully recovered and ready to play at their peak performance level.   Final thoughts: We obviously wanted to go farther in the tournament, but the team had quality performances and represented the USA very well. I’ll cherish these memories for a lifetime.
