As a Premier Destination Provider & Partner of Make-A-Wish® Connecticut, Avelo is proud to help make wishes come true. For 7-year-old Carter, it was his wish to go to Disney World with his family. There are over 70 Disney wishes in the Queue in Connecticut, and over 300 total wishes waiting to be granted, many of which were put on pause during the pandemic due to travel restrictions for many of these children. We are excited to announce our transition to BioEx Fluorine-Free Foam (F3), a safer, PFAS-free alternative for fire-suppression systems on our Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) vehicles. This marks a significant step forward in our ongoing commitment to environmental #safety and public #health. 🍃 To ensure a thorough and compliant transition, we partnered with LAYDON INDUSTRIES, LLC, a state-approved contractor. Their team executed an extensive offsite process to drain, flush, and clean our fire engines and suppression systems, ensuring that no harmful residues remain. The new F3 foam systems have been successfully retrofitted and are now fully operational in compliance with CT DEEP regulations. This proactive step positions #HVN ahead of the U.S. Department of Defense's efforts to phase out PFAS-containing foams by next year. Together, we are committed to fostering a healthier future for our community and the environment.

Today, we had the privilege of hosting the STRIVE program here at #HVN, welcoming young-adults with #disabilities aged 18-22 for a hands-on experience navigating the airport. 🌟 From ticketing to bag drop, security screening, and boarding, these future travelers gained valuable skills and the confidence that will empower them on their next journey.
