The TurnSignl Foundation is delighted to announce the addition of four distinguished professionals to our Board of Directors, each bringing invaluable experience and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. John McDonough joins the TurnSignl Foundation with a 30-year career in the insurance industry. As Vice President of Employee Benefits at Marsh McLennan Agency, he provides insights on incorporating our programs as employee benefits. Recently named to MMA's National DE&I Team, John also serves on another nonprofit board. A lifelong Minnesotan, John enjoys family activities, especially those involving the lake, with his wife, four sons, and grandson. Dr. Hideko Sera, PsyD, currently serves as the Executive Director of Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (EIB) at Morehouse College, where she created the institution’s first comprehensive EIB blueprint. With 24 years in higher education, she focuses on health disparities, mental health access, educational justice, and social justice advocacy for communities of color. Dr. Sera's accolades include the 2021 APA Presidential Citation Award and the Cynthia D. Belar Education Advocacy Distinguished Service Award. She began her term on the APA’s Board of Directors January 1, 2024. Officer Nathan Poke a Sergeant in the Community Engagement Unit at the St. Paul Police Department, demonstrates leadership and dedication to public service. He serves on the executive board of the National Black Police Officer Association-Minnesota Chapter, advocating for diversity in law enforcement. Since 2017, Nathan has also been a seasoned realtor, providing integrity-driven service. A devoted husband and father of three, he is actively involved in community initiatives, striving to create a safer, more inclusive community. Tod Herskovitz brings 15 years of nonprofit and social sector experience to the TurnSignl Foundation. As Community Affiliates Program Manager at the Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation, he aids communities statewide in accessing philanthropic resources. Previously, as Communications Director at The Sanneh Foundation, Tod developed strategies and partnerships that made it one of Minnesota’s most impactful youth and family services organizations. Tod also volunteers on the Minnesota Council on Foundations Governance Committee. Please welcome these four accomplished professionals to the TurnSignl Foundation Board of Directors. 🎉Great news from the TurnSignl Foundation!🎉 We are delighted to announce that Cummins Inc., a global leader in power solutions, has awarded a generous grant of $103,000 to the TurnSignl Foundation. This transformative funding is dedicated to enhancing roadway safety and providing legal awareness with access to the TurnSignl app platform for low-income drivers across seven states: Georgia, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. The grant will play a pivotal role in expanding our Empowerment Program, which focuses on equipping drivers with the knowledge and tools for safe and informed interactions during traffic stops or accidents.
