Last night I attended CyberRisk Collaborative’s Q3 CISO dinner at Gibsons, which is coincidentally where I attended my first cybersecurity event, the Q3 CISO dinner almost exactly one year ago. The timing and location allowed me to reflect on where I was last year, nervous to walk through the door and only knowing Glenn, to where I was yesterday, still nervous, but excited to see and catch up with some of the people I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know and learn from over the past year. The biggest thank you to Glenn Kapetansky for always reaching a hand out and inviting me to join him at these events and introducing me to the Chicago cybersecurity community. It is always a pleasure to catch up with CISO colleagues in person, and this time was no exception. Valkyrie Security made it happen, and I confess they are a new one to me: an innovative (yes, "innovate" is my word) take on identity security, across the entire privilege lifecycle to manage elevated privileges. The nice part is how they transform even complex manual IAM processes into an agentless, streamlined operation. The even nicer part is how damn friendly their exec team is. Thanks Rotem Lurie Or Vaknin and Omri K., I hope we find a way to work together. And thanks, Erik Decker, for the introduction.
