While over-tourism is making the headlines, the industry is working to channel the growth of travel and tourism into healthy outcomes for the host destinations and their citizens. Pivoting tourism from extractive to supportive. Congratulations to the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime and Investment Affairs Republic of Indonesia for hosting its 1st International Quality Tourism Conference last week in Bali.  Its purpose is to foster responsible tourism growth and bring sustainable, community-minded and high-value tourism to #Indonesia 🇮🇩 and the wider #ASEAN+3 region.  When designed well, travel can truly be a force for good. It has the power to revive communities and culture, drive jobs creation and support animal and nature conservation and regeneration. The win-win models aren't necessarily the easiest to create nor the fast money wins - but they leverage assets strategically and sustainably, are what consumers are looking for and will win in the end.   This initiative is spearheaded under the leadership of H.E. Luhut Binsar Pandajaitan, Minister at the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime and Investment Affairs, and H.E.
