On August 15, the Futureproof Project brought together senior brand marketers to explore AI adoption frameworks and practical applications in marketing. Building on the conversation we started at the ANA AI Forum in June, this virtual session was packed with insights that can give your brand a competitive edge. Here are the 3 key takeaways: 1️⃣ Autonomous AI Enhances Customer Care and Conversion: AI agents in conversational commerce are now capable of real-time responses, sentiment analysis, and personalized recommendations that drive conversions. 2️⃣ Choosing the Right AI Tools: With over 67,000 AI companies to choose from, prioritizing tools that align with your specific goals is crucial. Different AI models produce distinct outcomes, so understanding the strengths and limitations of each tool will help you choose the one that best suits your desired results. 3️⃣ Human Expertise Still Matters: AI is powerful, but human oversight is key to ensuring brand consistency and high-quality outputs, particularly in creative processes and data interpretation. Verimatrix engaged Traction to shift perception of the brand from a tired, legacy DRM security provider to a relevant, modern solution for content protection. We systematically helped Verimatrix uplevel their brand experience and market presence. Everyone knows security stops bad things from happening. But it can enable amazing things to happen, too. Rather than reminding audiences of security threats they know too well, the campaign focused on inspiring customers to look beyond the risks and see how Verimatrix can help them “deliver amazing.” Not only did we develop new positioning, messaging, a marketing campaign, a microsite and a website to market, we added a product design team to the mix to reimagine the UX of the cloud application that Verimatrix was betting its future on. #BrandTransformation #MarketingStrategy #UXDesign #ContentProtection

Seven years ago, i stepped into a firestorm. I wrote a blog post on LinkedIn about a new policy we created at Traction called Days of Action. We created a civic engagement benefit that gave employees two additional days of PTO per year to participate in democracy—however they saw fit. The post went viral. Despite being very clear that this was a non-partisan policy, a right wing publication called the Daily Wire wrote an article saying we were proof that liberals were being paid to protest. The backlash was vicious. We soon wound up on the front page of Breitbart. The Fox News. Tens of thousands of comments and engagements on social media—from being called candyasses and snowflakes, to calls for boycotts to threats of violence. Quite frankly, it was ridiculous. And a little scary. But there were also tons of people who actually read my post who reached out with gratitude and support. It was one spark of many that led to a new trend of companies reassessing their corporate social responsibility and introducing civic engagement benefits of their own. Four years ago, we saw thousands of companies around the US give people the day off to vote on Election Day. That’s incredible progress. But, we believe it’s not enough. Democracy is a participatory institution. It makes this country great. Businesses benefit from it—and they should support it. I don’t beseech very often, but I beseech you! As business leaders, introduce your own Days of Action. Give your people the opportunity to play a role—whether that’s making calls or canvassing for a candidate, being a polling captain or even going to a rally or peaceful protest (all things Traction employees have done with their days). We all are fortunate to live in a free country where we have the ability to contribute and shape the future we want to see. Your team deserves that opportunity. Give it to them.

As retail media spending continues to soar—expected to hit $60 billion in 2024—there’s a new player entering the game: financial institutions. Chase recently launched Chase Media Solutions, using their vast troves of consumer spending data to target ads. Imagine the power of using purchase history to refine ad strategies—just bought a stroller? Here’s a diaper ad. Grabbed a PS5? Get a game recommendation. At Traction, we’re keeping a close eye on this shift. Financial institutions are dipping their toes into what we're calling Spending Media Networks. Could this trend outpace retail media networks in the future? It’s possible, and the implications for marketers are massive. Curious about what’s next? Dive into our latest article in ANA Industry Insights for a deeper look. #MarketingTrends #RetailMedia #AdvertisingInsights #SpendingMediaNetworks
