People ask me a lot about what I look for in a leader. Regardless of your function or role, the answer is simple. You can be the very best at what you do, but if you aren’t good to people then I don’t care how good you are. WHAT you do and HOW you do it are equally important to me. Leaders create results through people. You can’t be a brilliant jerk. And you can’t be a lovable underperformer. You have to be great at what you do, and do it in a way that brings people together and motivates them to be great as well.
