Musicians are flocking to games. Gaming is one of the most impactful virtual arenas an artist can use to build a fan base. 🎧 Deloitte's 2022 Digital Media Trends survey found that Gen-Z gamers have a strong relationship with music—with music they hear in games, discover while watching game streamers, share with other players, and listen to while gaming. The report data suggests that 42% of Gen Z gamers listen to other music while gaming, and 34% hear music in a game and then look it up online to stream or buy. Additionally, 25% wish they could purchase music they hear in a game or be able add to a playlist. https://lnkd.in/g9qg7KCs

The gaming industry, anticipated to be worth $321 billion by 2026, is transforming thanks to the surge in user-generated content (UGC). This trend benefits gamers with diverse content, enables in-game creators to earn significantly (with projections surpassing $1 billion in 2023), and offers advertisers innovative engagement channels. Prominent games like Minecraft, Roblox, and Fortnite exemplify this shift, underlining the importance of player creativity and involvement. Platforms like Overwolf, Curse, and The Sandbox aim to make game creation more accessible while providing lucrative monetization opportunities for creators. #gaming #creatoreconomy

"2024 will be an exciting year. As gaming increasingly competes for people's spare time with other entertainment media, I expect an increased focus on social and multiplayer experiences in both the PvP and PvE arenas. We will see the launch of titles with rich social worlds and deep gameplay experiences that aim to connect communities together. Gaming will continue to grow into a social activity that connects communities from around the world together. Additionally, I expect that we will see more user-generated content as players start to express themselves more by building their own experiences and sharing those with their communities."
