  • This month, TIC and the National Construction Center for Education and Research (NCCER) collaborated to launch a Spanish-translated offering of NCCER’s Power Line Worker: Substation Level 2 training. This training covers essential skills for safe power line work on substations, including electrical concepts, concrete, rigging, system protection and controls, and more. • ⌛ From the TIC time vault. In 2019, TIC completed the Naheola Mill Biomass-Fueled Boiler Project in Pennington, Alabama. The 550,000-pound-per-hour biomass-fueled boiler, along with the accompanying steam turbine generator (STG) replaced the existing coal units, providing better efficiency and lower emissions to help the client comply with environmental regulations. The team also designed and installed a new baghouse, ash storage and handling equipment, a steam surface condenser, boiler feedwater pumps and biomass fuel yard. The project received ENR’s Southeast’s 2020 Best Energy Project award. Truly a project to be proud of for all TIC employees involved!
