Opus Time Lapse: STA/VIS Michel Family Aquatic Center Q4 2024 Construction Update With 43 swim and dive championships between them, Saint Thomas Academy (STA) and Visitation School (VIS) in Mendota Heights, Minnesota, are known for their excellence in the pool. For nearly 60 years, the teams shared a pool on the STA campus, but it needed replacement. The schools chose us to construct a new state-of-the-art aquatic center that will better serve the schools and the community. The STA/VIS Michel Family Aquatic Center will include: • a 25-yard indoor pool with eight lanes • a diving board • bleacher seating for 350 • expansive deck space • new locker rooms for both schools The building complements the campus' existing use of brick and features expansive glass windows that will allow natural daylighting and views. A sustainable structural system will use a combination of cross-laminated timber and a steel roof. Our team partnered with the architect and the school to provide cost-saving options to bring the project within their budget. We were ultimately selected to build the project based on competitive pricing, past project performance and familiarity with the schools and their facilities. #TheOpusGroup #DesignBuild #CommercialRealEstate

Kansas City associates recently participated in the annual Eagle U Youth Success Camp at Baker University for the second year in a row. Mike Stromberg, Director of Real Estate Development, and Megan Hunsberger Garner, Project Executive, volunteered at this year’s Mentor Round Table, answering questions and sparking some interest in a career in real estate development and construction. Additionally, Megan accepted an award on the team’s behalf for the continued partnership. Through our active engagement, the Opus Foundation has awarded Eagle U with a total of $15,000 in Opportunity Fund Grants. Eagle U is a nonprofit youth leadership, workforce development, entrepreneurship and success retreat for students between the ages of 15 to 25 years old, designed to give students a seven-year career head start. In early October, associates in our Minneapolis office had a rare opportunity to advance affordable housing in our community. Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity hosted the annual Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project (CWP) at The Heights. Developed by the Saint Paul Port Authority, the entirety of The Heights will provide more than 1,000 housing units, 1,000 jobs and a new community with greenspaces and amenities. Twin Cities Habitat plans to build 147 mid-density affordable housing units on 12 acres across four city blocks over the next five years at The Heights, making it their largest development to date. At the end of a four-unit townhouse building, our associates tackled interior work. During the week, four associates each day and volunteers from a few other organizations insulated, caulked, placed vapor barrier and installed sheetrock in all three levels of the house. Opus Time Lapse: Spectro Alloys Billet Expansion Q4 2024 Construction Update To improve recycling rates and meet the growing demand for recycled aluminum, Spectro Alloys turned to our team to design and construct a 90,000-square-foot recycling facility expansion. The facility will include industry-leading automation and state-of-the-art equipment for sorting, melting, casting and homogenizing aluminum scrap and the best available pollution control technology. The plant will reduce energy use and carbon emissions 95% compared to the production of new aluminum. It will increase the company's recycling capacity by 120 million pounds per year and create up to 50 new full-time jobs.
