I went on set at Warner Bros. Studios to see The Martin Agency's blockbuster 'Beetlejuice Beetlejuice' collab for CarMax in action. While touring the Burton-esque 'BeetleMax' car dealership and watching an earthquake hit the miniature model town, I spoke with CarMax's Yujin Heo and Martin's GCD, Anne Marie Hite, about why this Beetlejuice nightmare was a dream production for everyone involved. In visual development, building on brands, and multi-tasking on numerous projects, they’ve delivered strong conceptual ideas and even better designs. Here’s what they have to say: Jayme: “I’ve worked closely and collaborated with the best team to design various applications for companies like Papa Johns and GEICO. This collaborative work environment has taught me how valuable it is to be able to learn from others in order to grow!” Esther: “I’ve gained extensive hands-on design experience, both collaboratively and independently! It was a great opportunity to learn how the advertising industry and design work together.”

Martin Executive Creative Director Ashley Marshall revealed to Marketing Dive some of the hurdles that ultimately led to magic when creating UScellular's latest 360 campaign featuring Alanis Morissette. "An early script for the campaign featured 'Ironic' with its lyrics rewritten for UScellular's purposes, but as pre-production continued, that approach proved limiting and rewriting the song was taken off the table — a familiar roadblock in the creative process of an ad. 'What are we going to do now? Is the idea dead?' Marshall recalls thinking. 'The team went back, and undeterred, found this other approach in which Alanis makes all these observations, just speaking them.'"
